The American Dream

What is the American dream?
Is it the one were all the slaves are free.

What is the American dream?
It’s when everything is how it supposed to be.

Were children can play and women can take a stand knowing that everyone will
understand.

Were blacks and whites can live in peace without the fear to die.

An education to all our children because that’s were our future lies.

Shadow

Every time I think Im alone
I hear a whisper that my fears grow
It doesnt matter when or where
all i know is that its always there
I turn around and what I see
is the scariest thing meant to be
A mysterious figure dressed in black
The pain of time that holds me back
In the dark it cant be seen
but in the light its meant to be
The mysterious bod dressed in black
is always there behind my back
But then i realize I was not aware
that there was never really anyone there
And then i turn around to see
that the figure in black was only me

Death

what happens to an image you can not see
what happens to the words you can speak
what happens to the touch you can not feel
what happens to a wound that can not heal
what happens to a bone that can not break
what happens to a choice you can not make
what happens to a heart that can not beat
what happens to life once its complete

Global Warming

This heat is so bad
it’s like a flame.
Were all praying
so we’ll have some rain.
The sun is so hot it’s
hard for me to think.
This wind is so dry
it’s hard for me to blink.
If global warming takes over
were all going to drown.
If you think about it
there’s a reason the dinosaurs are not around.
We have to get together,
we have to make a change.
Stop making excuses,
Stop playing the blame game.

Who Will Take the Time

Who will take the time
to see the face behind my mask
Who will take the time
to answer the questions that i ask
Who will take the time
to see the pain behind my tears
Who will take the time
to notice that im still right here
Who will take the time
to see the truth behind my eyes
Who will take the time
 to uncover all the lies
Who will take the time
to see the person I can see
Who will take the time
to see the girl inside of me

Im the one that will take the time, because I'm only one that can.
Im the one that will take the time because there's some things only I can
understand.

The Time of Fear

What can you do when you find yourself trapped,
trapped inside yourself?
What can you do when around you
 there’s no longer anyone else?
What can you do when your greatest fear
becomes the fear of fear of fear itself?
What can you do when you can’t even cry for help?
What can you do when your strength is gone
and with it gone your hope?
What can you do when you see a man
hanging from a rope?
All you can do in this moment
is close your eyes and pray.
Take a deep breath and wish
that tomorrow will be a better day.
