Forget About the Past

I need a sunburn to feel alive, lately I just feel dead inside. Is the feeling coming back? I feel like I’m fading back into the black. I’ve heard of a relapse, but does that happen to a mental illness? The feeling of wanting to go back into the abyss, no one should know what it feels like to go through a feeling like this. How can I trust anyone, when I don’t know how to trust myself? I feel myself going through changes, but I’m not the man I want to be, I feel trapped, but I want to be free. They tell you to forget about the past, but it’s hard when the past won’t forget about you. When you want to go back to school, but your past grades are too low because you acted like a fool in high school. When you want to see your daughter more, but you can’t because of the way your illness made you act before. All examples of the past coming back, so how exactly do you forget about that? Some days I feel okay, most days I feel like I’m just wasting away. Family and friends say “You’ve come along way”, but I feel like it just comes down to me acting every day. I’m really not sure how I feel and I sure as hell don’t know which feeling is real.

Every Song Tells a Story

I miss the feeling of going for a midnight drive, having the windows down, blaring our favourite song, three, two, one and it was all gone. We were defiantly driving with one headlight, but we both knew that it was going to be alright. We loved to drive all night because we knew the DJ would play it again. Every now and then we would drive to your mom’s house out in Simcoe, everybody around knew we were burnin’ it down. Hey girl, you know what you were doing with the beat of the music, always had a way to make me loose it. We both knew that together we were fire and gasoline, but we both lived like there was no tomorrow. There is always a map that leads me to you, as twisted as it sounds you didn’t know that I was insane, but you weren’t to blame. Sometimes, you have to say take care and look the other way, but am I wrong if a stutter through the fallout? We’re going to let it burn as we swing life away. Until all of me loves all of you, we’ll be singing American pie till its 3AM, while we’re counting stars in the middle of a hurricane. We’ll meet again when it’s the summer of 69’ because it’s where my demons hide. I hope in the future we can go for one last midnight drive.

Music-Lyrics

Music, music sets me free,
It lets me be who I want to be,

Lyrics, lyrics can lead to misery,
It makes me want to bleed,

Music, music makes me scream,
It scares the living soul out of me,

Lyrics, transform thoughts to actions,
It puts me in a tight contraption,

Music, soothes the soul,
It can also take a toll,

Lyrics, could make you cry,
It could make you want to die,

Music could make you feel worthless,
It could make everything feel worth it,

Lyrics, could lift you up,
It could also bring you down,

Music, can make you frown,
It could make you act like a clown,

Lyrics and music will always be around.

Have You Ever

Have you ever had days where it’s felt like your heart wasn’t working right? Maybe it felt like your chest was feeling really tight? Have you ever had a hard time turning your brain off at night? You’ve even tried wishing on a shooting star “I wish I may, I wish I might”, but you still end up with no appetite? Have you ever felt like every sad song you listen to is about you? Do you ever wonder if they care about you, as much as you care about them? Have you ever had to pretend? Have you ever wanted to make a change in the world? Have you ever laid in bed in the dark, under the blankets just curled? Was there a time where you’ve made a mistake? Have you ever been through a heartache? Have you ever wanted to change who you are? Have you wished you were just alone drunk at a bar? Have you thought about how you’ve even made it through life so far? Do you get the urge to pick up and leave and never come back? Do you feel like some days you’re going to fade into the black? Have you ever lost someone closed to you? Did it make you feel blue? What did you do? Did you scream to the heavens and beg for them to come back? Have you ever wished life could just be back tracked? Do you feel like you’re the problem child? How do you feel when you don’t remember passing out on the bathroom tile? Hopefully, all this will make sense in a little while, but until then, you'll just sit there and smile.
