The Meadow

Tall honey- tinted grass
Sweet-scented wildflowers
Kaleidoscope of colors.

Balmy warm air
Slow darkening sky
As the dim night falls.

Moon so luminous
Stars so shimmering
Hours of darkness have come.

Slow approaching radiance
As the dawn breaks
Light creeps over the earth.

Warm sunlight hours
Have finally arrived
Sun-kissed meadow so bright.

The meadow so hushed
The day is gone
Light retreating gently away.

Whispering Pines

Just the hint of a breeze
Moving through the trees
So quietly
Beautiful green foliage
Tiny needles on branches
Can you hear the whisper?
As the wind moves through
The Whispering Pines

Just a quiet place to go
To think, to dream
Feel the soft air
As it moves
Slowly over my body
Can you hear the whisper?
As the wind moves through
The Whispering Pines

Wind barely noticeable
On my skin
Pine covered earth
Beneath my feet
Yielding to my footsteps
Can you hear the whisper?
As the wind moves through
The Whispering Pines

My special place
No one else knows
Calm tranquility
Harmonious serenity
Feel the solitude
Can you hear the whisper?
As the wind moves through
The Whispering Pines

Corners of My Mind

Dark remote recesses
A place that has no meaning
A hint of color ever so often
A faint, slight musical note
An empty corner full of possibilities

Nurturing knowledge creeping in
Darkness lifting
Colors exploding
Music flowing
Now it’s clear
The corners of my mind

That Is Silence

Silence is like the night.
Calm, tranquil, like black silk.
Covering you like a blanket of death.
Ice, frozen raindrops, a sea of nothingness.
That is silence.

Wait, strain to hear, what was that?
Nothing but the sweet darkness that is silence.
Where can I go to escape this heavy feeling?
It's coming down more quickly; heavy, dark, nothingness.
That is silence.

Calmness, light, a tunnel, peace.
Is this the end?
Heaviness, hands of light reaching out to pull you in.
Finally, peace, a wash of sweet light.
That is silence.
