Follow Your Heart

In times of despair,
In times of trouble,
When the world's against you,
Just follow your heart.
Your world may be filled with,
Gloom & disappointment,
Threatening voices may surround you,
When you sink deeper & deeper
In darkness,
Just follow your heart.
You may fall,
Stumble a little,
The road ahead may seem 
Dark & threatening,
But whatever it might be,
Just follow your heart.
Nobody may come to help you up,
No one will lead you the way,
But whether you may meet someone or not,
Just follow your heart.
When you see the Light ahead and,
The world tingling with energy,
Every step taken,heavenly,
You know you just
Followed your heart.

Autumn Colours

I go
As leaves crunch
Under my feet,
A beautiful mosaic 
On a bare street.
The trees whisper
As a cool breeze
Makes it way past.
Stillness.
Just to live in the moment and
Take it all in.

Getting There

Getting there
No looking behind
Because I am half way through.
The destination I knew,
Wouldn't have been this far
Now, no going back
Cause I got halfway through.
There's been a drive,
Always an urge to go beyond and
That's the only way I got

Girl On the Street

There’s a girl on the street,
A child, not more than five.
Her feet are bare, clothes a ragged affair,
And her hair unkempt.

Her eyes, sunken and deep, 
Can’t speak of the horrors,
She must have seen.

Now quite alone,
In a world not meant for her,
She looks,
As life goes on around her.

My Hobby

Writing poetry 
Is my hobby 
It gives me joy
And happiness 
Nothing ever can

There is bliss
There is solace
In creating something 
Unique and beautiful 

In poetry there is life
And in life there is poetry
 
Inspiration is anything 
People, places and things

Poetry is art
A great form of expression 


Note- This poem is close to me because it’s all about my one and only hobby - writing poetry about which I am very passionate about.

Second To None

I found you,
Lost in a crowd,
Yet there was no one around,
You were my only one,
You were second to none.

I thought you were mine,
Someone to hold my hand,
And lead me in the future, 
You were second to none.

Whenever I see you,
It’s a reminder of a past,
Of broken promises, 
Dreams that won’t last,
No one to take your place,
I was never yours,
Yet you had a place in my heart,
You were my forever, 
My second to none.

One Last Tear

One last tear,
I shed for you,
For the unfulfilled dreams,
All the  desires,
And the future, 

For it was always about you, 
Never me,
Yet you chose to leave.

You were mine,
You stole my heart,
Yet I was not a part of your life.

Though it was always about you,
Never me.

I decided to move on,
Yet I couldn’t forget the past,
All the memories, 
I shared with you, 
My best ones full of you,
Yet you left, 

Even though it was still about you, 
Never me.

You were my sunshine, 
My moonshine,
Now all the days are grey, 
Everyday.

I will miss you,
I won’t forget you,
But now I won’t look back, 
Because a new path lies ahead,
I will walk alone,
Now it will always be about me,
Never you.

Once Again

Once again, she smiled 
Her eyes told a different story though.
Her beauty shone through her simplicity 
Her heart,kind yet humble.

Her teacher always by her side,
Never leaving her alone.
She a good student,
A willing learner.


She was once naive, just like the others,
Now so much wiser, she had changed.
 
She had come a long way,
Yet the journey had not come to an end.
Her resilient will power, 
Had never failed.
She smiled, once again.

You were gone
Far too soon 
Before I said
The last goodbye
Your memories 
Few but precious 
I believe

You are watching

By the Water Edge

By the water‘s edge 
I sit
Amongst the little white waves
And the whispering winds
Waiting wishing 
You would be back 

We parted ways 
The greener grass doesn’t exist 
Now as I stay on the sandy sands
A shooting star is all I need
