Believe

Become completely vulnerable
Stand at the edge of the mountain
And lift up your hands
To the one who gave it all
So you could have it all
Breathe in the grace flooding from the heavens
Do not fight it
Close you eyes and allow your burdened past to be washed away
You are new
You are beautiful
You are who you will become, not who you once were
You are His
Whisper into the wind softly as you hear the things you never had the courage to hear before
Listen carefully and be inspired to be like wind
Strong yet calm
Bold yet cautious
Become grounded by the faith lifting you up higher and higher
Feel the earth beneath you and know God makes beautiful things out of dust and can most definitely make beautiful things
Out of us
Stand at the edge of the mountain
And be fearless
You are stronger, more powerful than this mountain could ever be
Because you are the daughter of a king
Who can move mountains with a single word, a single breath
And He has given you the strength to do the same with faith as small as a mustard seed
Stand at the edge of the mountain
And be steadfast
Listen to the beat of your heart
And know you were crafted by the same creator who painted the earth and decided to
Mold one of you
You are a creation
You are a masterpiece
Now go make some art
And be a light
To unearth the glory of our father

My God

My God never fails me
My God seeks me
And finds me
My God adores me
My God wants me
My being
My heart
My entirety
The shards, the mess, the shame
My God desires it all
Because My God desires me
My God sought beauty in this earth
So He created me
A flower planted in the garden of my Father’s hand
In His eyes,
I am beautiful because I am sowed and reaped endearingly and perfectly
My God believes in me
So much
That he gave me Christ-
A worth
An identity like any other
My God trusted the World in my hands
So My God breathed life into my soul
So I live
I rejoice
And I love
For the one
Who turned me from a mustard seed into the mountain
So I stand courageously
Knowing my God is my God
And I am exactly who He made me to be
His

Running

They say mind over matter.
But for a runner,
It's heart over mind.
Anticipation runs through my veins
And doubt fills my mind,
But the gun goes off
And nothing seems to matter other than time:
"We will soar on wings like eagles,
We will run and not grow weary"
The sound of footsteps,
The sound of heartbeats,
All in unison
All in tune
I hear passion with every inhale
And love
With every exhale
As the winds pass,
So have the years.
But the recollections of it all,
Shall never fade.
The laughter in our breaths
And the pain in our limbs
For there's nothing greater than
The beauty of pain
And the pain of beauty.
There's just something about the sunsets painted in the sky
That form the pictures in my mind,
The ones with teammates
by my side
With pride in our hearts
And God's overwhelming grace in all that surrounds.
4 indescribable years,
4 years of growth,
4 years of experience,
4 years of memories,
And here's what I've learned:
Times are meaningless,
When memories
Are timeless.
The race may have ended,
But the journey has just begun.

Forever In Awe of the One Who Created It All

The stars you place in the eerie night sky
Are guidance for my ever wandering heart and soul.
The wind on a summer afternoon
Are your silent whispers
Traveling to my ears,
Reassuring me
That everything is falling to place
In the works of your hands.
The sun is an emulation
Of your overwhelming love
For It surrounds me on a daily basis.
Consumed I am
And happy through it all.

I Bet

I bet you don't see the stars in his eyes
The galaxies that encompass his mind
The beauty of darkness
Held within a heart
That never knew how to love
I bet you can't comprehend his thoughts that embody black holes
Lost within the calamity of it all
But my heart always had his embraced within the grip of my palm
But it lead astray
The constellations didn't quite align correctly
The planets orbited incoherently
And that path
Mistakingly lead to you
So here I am
Lost within the concept of time and space
Who fell in love with a star
That was dead at first sight

Butterflies

There was once a little girl,
And a little boy.
The little girl was all alone,
Without a care in the world.
She had eyes as bright as the sun and a heart
That bloomed with the flowers around her head.
She wrote on pages that
Only her heart knew of
And sang in melodies only
The birds
Could sing along with.
But then,
A little boy
Came up to her,
And took her hand without saying
A word at all.
She didn't question his gesture,
But rather smiled with glee
For she was one
To always enjoy adventure.
He ran with a sprint,
And she couldn't help but to follow.
Her mind couldn't stop racing just wondering where on earth
He was possibly taking her.
They stopped in the middle of a beautiful field.
Breath taken she was
At the sight of it all:
Trees adorned the field and butterflies fluttered
In the flawless sky above.
They were attracted to the flowers in her hair
And in the same manner,
Her heart
Was attracted to them.
The little boy tip toed into the air
In such a way
That made the little girl's eyes gleam.
He caught a butterfly from the air and with the cutest sparkle in his eye,
Handed it to the girl.
Her dainty fingertips held the creature
As their hands touched
For a second or two
Just enough time for her stomach
To make a leap or two.
She looked at the fragile creature
With a sense of wonderment and awe
For its colors were far beyond her imagination
But she was still in love with them
Nevertheless.
But then,
The butterfly escaped her hands
And flew off into the breathtaking skies
As a tear
Fell from her eye.
The boy ran after the creature
And that was the last time
She ever saw the boy.
Left in a field
Where her tears
Were the only ones she had near.
And just like this,
You left.
You were the first
To show me
The beauty of butterflies
And how they felt to have them overwhelm
My heart and mind.
And you were also the first
To show me
How it feels to fall in love them
And have them leave.
You've taught me beauty and destruction
You've taught me happiness and sadness
You've taught me things
I wish
I never had to learn:
I fall in love with things
That are only bound to leave.
And you,
Are one of these

Fake

They called her fake.
But little do they know that
Life is a masquerade,
Filled with actors
Reading scripts created by corrupted society.
Nothing but fallacies and superficiality contained within each line.
We live to please society,
But we still can't please ourselves.
We smile in a world
Drowning in tears.
We laugh to our heart's content,
when it's broken beyond repair.
We smile during the day
to be rid of the inevitable tears at night.
People judge,
without even knowing how to judge themselves
We love people
when we can't even love ourselves.
And we inspire others
to one day,
Inspire ourselves.
And with this
I believe "Fake" is
Too derogatory
But rather, I prefer to call us human,
trying to be accepted into a world
That isn't always so accepting

My Story

Why is it when I'm lost
My thoughts always seem to be found?
Somewhere amongst the middle of the never ending sky with my past
Left on land
And my future held within the interlacing clouds and hues of blue.
Serenity overfills my heart,
As despair flees
Because for once in my life,
I'm finally free
Where I'm everything
I ought to be.
Once upon a time there was a little girl who feared the monsters that fought inside her mind and overtook the beauty of her soul
For they soon turned into nightmares
She could fathom no longer.
But strength won the battle for her heart and now the little girl writes her story
With the tip of her pen that tattoos love and passion
On every inch of her body
For all to admire.
So I guess every story has its own happy ending
That spindles with the thread of time.
And as I get more and more lost within the perplexity of it all,
I begin to see my life unfolding
As my heavenly author
Writes my story.

I'M Ready

I'm ready
To leave the wounds of my past
Far away
From the promises of my tomorrow,
Held by the one
Who saved my every sorrow.
I'm ready
To break the wall of chains
And defeat the monsters that tear me up inside
For it's time for this battle to cease
And for my soul
To attain victory at last.
I'm ready
To take the tears bounded by my fears
And bottle them up
For they belong in the streams of lost dreams.
So,
With the turn of the calendar,
I kiss the pain of yesterday goodbye
And say hello to the beauty of time and new beginnings
For I know my future is bright
Since the one who created the sun and stars
Is in control of it all.

A Girl's Soul

She personified the future
To reassure her soul
That tomorrow held her heart
Within his grasp,
Tight and secure.
She let go of her every fear
As they fell down into the depths of the hollow earth
In order to embody the blissfulness of wind.
And as it surrounds her,
She learns to become one with it
For nothing
Has quite felt so right or serene.
She smiles with the yellow poppies
That line the never ending fields
And the path of her future
With sunshine
That shines from a spirit
That's bound to be hers,
Forever to remain gold
And never to become old
For a tale so beautiful has never been told,
Since every girl's soul has already been sold.
