Fake

They called her fake.
But little do they know that
Life is a masquerade,
Filled with actors
Reading scripts created by corrupted society.
Nothing but fallacies and superficiality contained within each line.
We live to please society,
But we still can't please ourselves.
We smile in a world
Drowning in tears.
We laugh to our heart's content,
when it's broken beyond repair.
We smile during the day
to be rid of the inevitable tears at night.
People judge,
without even knowing how to judge themselves
We love people
when we can't even love ourselves.
And we inspire others
to one day,
Inspire ourselves.
And with this
I believe "Fake" is
Too derogatory
But rather, I prefer to call us human,
trying to be accepted into a world
That isn't always so accepting
