Sara Sahr Poem
LIKE YOU
It’s one a dem dar days darlin
Ridin the rails thinking tomorrows on the horizon
Easy…
Like a king in a full house and winning
Sneak a Look up instead to sky
And learn a thing
Or two
So
Lessons taken and light acknowledged
Denial is (brutal but yes) acknowledged
Beauty…
Pearl in a shell, light for the distanced
Instead I came I saw I thought, I lied I
Like you
Cannot deny the stars they’re fixed
For the sailor, always for the thinker, maybe the tailor
Like you

Sara Sahr Poem
MORE IS BETTER
In a more solid space in a more solid place
I would open my mouth to speak
With a ransom of roses without any poses
I would open my arms to heal
But here in this place, there are just gestures of joy from women and boys
And so I open my mouth and open my arms
Sing a song and take
In a more even race with a much better pace
I would stretch my legs out and fly
With only champagne and smoke and sharp crystals of hope
I would open my mind and heal
But here there are clouds with clout and much time to go without
And so I open my mouth and open my mind
Recite an anthem to break
