You

Sunlit curly blond hair, icy blue eyes
Horse shoe crabs, sundials, cloudless skies
Rolling Stones, Dean Koontz and Mathematics
treasure hunting, pizza nights, schematics
fossils, meteors, tulips, strawberries
complex creation physics and theories
Sea breezes, ponies, quiet dreams
Plotting and planning your life schemes

Memories linked to the songs you hum
Trapped in your heart to beat like a drum
Chatting fingers, friends, long wavy hair
Sharing time and space with those who care
Mountain drives, lakes, snowless nights, roaming hands
Your mind and your world constantly expands
The hopes and dreams that you still wish
A boyish dork some call bookish

Midnight loving, long pillow talks
James Bond watching, languorous walks
Tim Tams, wine and fire light
Eyes that gleam as souls ignite
Whisper white sands shifting beneath your feet
You live your life to a different beat
Bonsai trees, stargazing and jars of treasures
just some of your many intriguing pleasures

Surfer boy who daydreams but loves me true
The gift is the joy in you simply being You

Old Books

You sit there alone on the shelf neglected
A reminder of a time not so long ago
When you were held in their arms respected
To tell them all they wanted to know

Your once soft supple shell
Turning moldy with age
The taste of you catches in my throat you smell
You have seen better days

A rare first edition print
Is a beauty I cannot measure
It could be you are worth a mint
But that is not the value I treasure

They hide you in the back room
Thinking you are not required
If only they understood
How much you are admired

My fingers gently stroke your spine
I wish I could take you home
The pleasure then would be all mine
As through your pages I let my fingers roam

Chill

So...............

I should just shut up and chill

Cause you don’t like the drama

Yet here you are back for more

You crave this panorama

Imagine how bored you would be

If you never felt the rage

You really want someone more sepia or beige

If you could walk all over me

Treat me with disdain

You would change your ticket

And ride a different train

You and I know each other well

And there are secrets we could tell

So cut the melodrama

Just enjoy the thrill

Come, tease and please the one who is equal to your will

Cascade

Memories of him from her eyes cascade
her mind now implodes in the midst of night
her desire for love has begun to fade

Warning signs had burned as candles so bright
his choices her impotent to dissuade
memories of him from her eyes cascade

No words or apology he took flight
forever mocked by cruel masquerade
her desire for love has begun to fade

How dare he not know guilt or feel contrite
her heart lies in tatters her spirit frayed
memories of him from her eyes cascade

Dust is now settling on her shining knight
lost in her own world her life disarrayed
her desire for love has begun to fade

One day her love of life will reignite
her own wants will force her out of the shade
memories of him from her eyes cascade
her desire for love has begun to fade

Harmless Heart

There is no place for a harmless heart to hide
Like bruises on her skin the pain is on the outside
No refuge for the shadows within her eyes
No mask could ever be a fitting disguise

Where can a homeless heart go
Should it sit in the gutter, be on show
There should be a haven safe from further pain
When tears like raindrops fall to mirror flooding rain

Harmless or homeless the heart is lost in space
For there is no soft and warm welcoming place
The only place that is safe and true
Is the strength and fire within you

Falling

sometimes as I lay down to sleep
through my dreams you gently creep
in my trance I hear you calling
that’s how heavily I am falling
as a snowflake swishes and swirls from misty skies
my desire for you I cannot disguise
I found my home in your embrace
like the snowflake I danced to my resting place
under your fingers like a kitten I purr
I scream obscenities that I should whisper
when you reached out sought my trembling part
you wrote our need on my wispy heart
I denied the risk when I started to fall
that no one would catch me- no one at all
Friends say I have changed in so many ways
they hardly recognise me these days
Everything just seems so right
dark shadows that loomed now hide from your bright

Brave

3am
Lying in bed reflecting of all I do not say or do
I promise myself from tomorrow I will be brave
I sleep and do not dream

In the morning I make coffee instead of tea
As the old grey deaf rescue cat
Worms around my legs for food
She reaches up claws the cupboard
Her plaintiff cries assault my ears
She is brave
I wish I could purr like she purrs
Cry openly with want
Smiling I reach for her biscuits
Bump my cup off the bench
Rolling my eyes
I watch as my milky brown sweet brave
Splatters, then creeps across the floor
Hurry to mop it up
Brave is never effortless

Walk Away

The lonely footsteps mark her way
as she left behind her partner today
She knew that there was more she should say
but somehow could not find the way
Soft breezes lick upon her cheek
caress the tear that flows so meek
Sliding a tear across the virgin skin
Glistening sign of her pain within
A million dreams live behind her eyes
But always a smile be her disguise
No company of a stranger shall she seek
Don’t look for her don’t even peek
For all that she leaves is the whisper and sigh
of a girl who finds it time to say goodbye

*not sure how long it is since I have written anything......just a nice gentle one to get going again. :)
