Harmless Heart

There is no place for a harmless heart to hide
Like bruises on her skin the pain is on the outside
No refuge for the shadows within her eyes
No mask could ever be a fitting disguise

Where can a homeless heart go
Should it sit in the gutter, be on show
There should be a haven safe from further pain
When tears like raindrops fall to mirror flooding rain

Harmless or homeless the heart is lost in space
For there is no soft and warm welcoming place
The only place that is safe and true
Is the strength and fire within you

I like to think that shelters can offer some respite for these unfortunate women... It would take an exceptionally strong person to rely on the 'strength and fire' within them. God bless them all. Well done HH! Best wishes, Keith

Thanks Keith, not quite what i meant though so will rethink this one. Was not about abused women so much as meant to be about lonely and vulnerable.....sigh. ps am also TheSource on other site. :)
