Sara West Poem
Ironic.
A full plate in life
An empty plate on the table.
When I hear "you've got a full plate",
I cringe; I'm starving.
Starving for dreams that can't come true
Mother's mistake can't undo
I'd rather starve than eat like you.
Not hungry today
Got a lot on my plate
Fasting for nothing
But pain.
Feed me pain
It's all I understand now
Or let me go
How I still love you so...
Ironic.
