Broken and Torn

Broken and torn from days long gone
Not from neglect or anything wrong
A family often would sit and communicate
I tried to listen, most times I could relate

I loved that family that crawled on me
Having fun playing games or watch TV
Late into the evening the girls would date
Playing love songs, kissing, feeling great

Rough housing little ones jumped too hard
Finally my legs fell off, from being jarred
They tried to make me work by patching
All those cats hopping on and scratching

Finally, I gave up the ghost and lost the fight
They took me outside and said goodnight
They bought one new; but often would say
I loved the old couch; it was good in it's day

When I Surrender

When I surrender my all to the Lord
I give the whole that is inside of me
My thoughts are no longer just mine
Secrets shared daily, just Him and I

All of my body, heart, mind and soul
Turned over to Him a hundred percent
To the one who created me like Him
In His image; He loved me before birth

I bow on my knees and cry Holy to Him
Trying to completely give more each day
My body is His temple I must keep clean
Walking closer to the Lord each day

Every inch I lay at His feet, giving all joy
Nothing too small or too tall to surrender
I give Him my fears as He wipes my tears
Lingering with Jesus in my prayers daily

When I pick up the bible, He speaks to me
He tells me about eternity and His promises
Once again, each day, I surrender my all
Jesus will never let me fall from His grace

What Christ Means To Me

The Savior, Jesus Christ, is my best friend
He hears when I talk and knows what I feel
He answers me in time, knowing what's best
Jesus protects me from Satan, through a test

Christ would swim the shark invested sea for me
He would climb a mountain so steep with danger
There is nothing He wouldn't do for me for eternity
He died on the ole rugged cross for all of my sins

He was nailed, spat on and crowned with thorns
He bled and was humiliated; how could I not love
One day he will come back in the heavens for me
And, all of those who believe in Him; wipe our tears

All I have for my Savior is love, faith and thankfulness
I love talking to Him every day, knowing He is near
What my Lord means to me is more than I can ever say
I plan on spending a life time showing Him in every way

I wasn't worthy of Him dying on the cross for me that day
I still am not worthy to be saved but still He paid the price
He bought His people with a price so dear and I love Him
He is and always will be my innocent Savior, my best friend

No More Broken Heart

Why are they tip toeing around this room
I wonder who they are and what they want
Sometimes they scare me with the needles
I like that kind man that comes in and smiles

I see something in his eyes that appear sad
After a while, I let him hold my hand and sit
He talks of people, telling me all about them
Sometimes, I feel a stir in my mind about them

Just a rose will do, I tell this man who came in
I always love roses, but not sure how I know
He doesn't seem to understand me; it's a rose
Anyone knows what a rose is, it's that red thing

He tried to kiss me but I turn my head everytime
I don't know him enough for that lip stuff he wants
A tear in his eyes like I always see as he leaves
Something inside me breaks but not sure what

All I want to do is call that man back to hold me
I don't remember his name right now; I'm so tired
I close my eyes and everything turns cloudy white
Next person I see is Jesus welcoming me home

I remember it all now, goodbye precious husband

God Said, Be Still

A young man was "set up" to die
Ran from the bullet that missed his eye
So, he was shot in the back instead
Shot multiple times, hoping he was dead

They kept shooting him his body ajar
He was trying to drag himself to his car
He was desperate now, God said, "NO"
"It is not time for this child to go"

Only eighteen God had a plan
"Be still, my son, and know that I am God,
I will be exalted among the heathen,
I will be exalted in the earth"

The young man saw God's work so true
He made it to the hospital, still living too
He should have died from such injuries
It was another of God's loving mysteries

Believe in the Bible, Psalms 46: 10
He brought a boy from a storm he was in
God asked him to be still and let Him shine
I shall hold you near and you will be mine
