Boris the Wombat

Boris the wombat was very fat
So fat in fact
That he had to sit back on his hind legs
Just like a dog when he begs
His best friend was called Pat, the wombat in the Akubra hat

One day Boris and Pat, the wombat in the Akubra hat
Went to pay a visit to their friend, Roxy the fruit bat
But when they finally got there Roxy explained in a pained voice
That she slept all day and played all night
So Boris and Pat, the wombat in the Akubra hat
Said goodbye to Roxy the fruit bat
As she snuggled up tight

Boris and Pat, the wombat in the Akubra hat
Wanted a friend and so in the end
They decided to see Nelly the Numbat
When Nelly saw Boris and Pat, the wombat in the Akubra hat
She asked them if they had seen Roxy the fruit bat
But they told her that Roxy wouldn’t come out to play
In the day
And that was that

Then Nelly the numbat
Asked Boris why he was so fat
And asked Pat why he wore that stupid Akubra hat
Well they had enough of being insulted
And so they bolted

After that they were sleepy and exhausted
And all of Boris’s bulky weight made his legs seem like lead
And Pat the wombat’s Akubra hat seemed glued to his head
It was getting late
And the duo still hadn’t found a play date
So they decided to call it a day
And that’s the end of the story, mate!

A Bush Walk

On a clear day, under a blue sky
My friends and I
Decided to go for a picnic lunch
So we headed out with a basket full of yummy
Things to munch on
The walk was long
But we were having fun
Warming our bodies in the midday sun

But while our fun had just begun
We were in for a shock
For sunning himself on a rock
Was a wombat wearing an akubra hat
My god he was an ugly little thing
And one of the ugliest wombats I’ve ever seen
We all let out a startled scream
Because this wombat could walk the walk
As well as talk the talk
And he told us with a snort
That he was going to take our lunch
And not to complain
Or he’d punch our lights out
Were we that game?

We all gave an angry shout
There was no way we were going to
let him steal our meal
just then the wombat let out a startled squeal
because at that moment who should come
crashing through the bush?

It’s none other than Skippy the kangaroo
Woooohooo!
He’ll know what to do
The true blue superhero
In for some action like Robert De Nero
We decide to call him
Here skip! We call
But watch in dismay as he trips and falls
Over a rock
He took a hard knock
And as Skippy crumpled to the floor
Faster than and unwashed sock
We knew for sure
That Skippy was more zero than hero

And as we stood there
We were scared once more
When the wombat saw this
He jumped off his rock
And gave us a look that made our hearts stop
But then we realized his size
He was only inches high
With a smile I raised my foot
And kicked that wombat into the sky
With a relived we saw that wombat fly
Now that was all over and done
We could start having fun again
And we got to keep our lunch in the end!

Ode To the Mosh Pit!

Lights flashing, people clashing
Arms and legs flying everywhere
People laughing, having fun
Dancing without a care
Feeling exhausted, want to rest
Have to find a chair
Can’t see the band because I have to stand
It isn’t fair!
Wait a minute, a gap at the front just opened up
Got to move fast, got to hurry up
If I want to get in there
Now my eyes are hurting from the glare of the lights
But being this close to the band is such a thrilling delight
Seeing them jumping around, hyping up the crowd is such an awesome sight!
Let’s hope they keep the crowd rocking into the night
As they sing their last song
For the final encore
I feel sad
I’d waited so long to see them
But I’m so glad I went along
And in a couple of years, they’ll be back once more!

The Story of Louise De Lorraine

The gardens of Chenonceau look so beautiful and bright
But I prefer to keep them out of sight
As I mourn in this room of black and white
I sit tight and wait for my love
He gave me his word and that is enough
However, my heart knows the truth and it is breaking

But I still spend every waking hour
Hoping he’ll come by
I don’t know how many days, years or months have past
But the air in here is starting to turn sour
Hopefully soon I will die
For I have cried a million tears
I speak not a word to anyone
And if people should speak to me, I do not hear
For their words fall upon death ears

I cover my walls with symbols of death
For it seems like that’s the only thing in my life that’s left
I pray every day
That God will see it my way
And end my stay on this earth
Because a life without my husband is not worth living for
Please God, when the time comes open that door
For I wouldn’t want anything more
But until that day, I will stay
And I will wait

Death, My Friend

The woman lies quietly in her hospital bed
The intense pain inside her head, too much to bear
Let alone the information the doctor just shared
Suddenly, something in the corner stirred that made her stare
Standing by the visitor’s chair, surrounded by a glaring light
Appeared a beautiful angel with wings of fire, that burned so bright
He held out his hand, and smiled like an old friend
He was here to relive the poor woman of her impending death
The woman smiled, and taking her last breath
She took the angel’s hand and followed him into the glorious glow
As she left her lifeless body on the hospital bed below.

How Can I Cope?

When I first met you
I didn’t know what to do
You were everything I wanted
And I thought you loved me too
But unfortunately
It wasn’t meant to be
Oh, god why couldn’t I see
That you weren’t the guy you pretended to be?
Do you have any idea how much it hurt me
To see you standing there
With track marks on your arms?
Do you know how much harm you’ve caused me?
The stress you put on me is too much for me to bear
It isn’t fair after all the time we shared together
I thought you’d learnt to trust me a bit better
To see you waste away like that
Is one of the hardest facts I’ve ever had to deal with
At least you tried to deal with it
You went away and came back strong and fit
We tried again
And of course it came to an end
You bent over backwards just to please me
But you just couldn’t just let it be
Can’t you see?
That you meant and still mean everything to me?
But how can I cope
We’ve tried again and again and there isn’t any hope
I just want you to know
That I will always care

Becoming of the Banshee

There was a beautiful girl
Who had the whole world at her feet
But then she did meet
The man of her dreams
He was as kind and gentle as he seemed

Very soon they were married
The couple beamed
They were so happy
She called his family her own
That's how close they had grown
Man and wife bought a house
They soon called home

But fate, as it is known
Has ways of rearing its ugly head
And it seems that these two
Were due their share
Of bad luck

The husband was struck down
With a terrible illness
And soon he was dead
As she sat by his bed
The girl was filled with dread
Her husband was gone but
There was so much left unsaid

As the girl wept
Something inside her crept
And suddenly she let out an inhumane howl
A noise that most people would call fowl

The nurse who looked after her husband scowled in disapproval
And sent for immediate removal
The girl soon died of a broken heart
But that wasn't the end
It was just the start

She loved his family with all her heart
So after she died
She would cry and wail
Without fail
For any member who passed away
And she is still with that family to this very day
For she was the very first banshee

Wonderland

There’s a place in my dreams
Where everything is not as it seems
It’s a wonderland
Where the sand is made from mother of pearl
And the deep jade water swirls around your feet
As the waves pound in a rhythmic beat

In the shaded woods
Little elves go about their business
Wearing brightly coloured hoods
That protect them from the sun
They watch their children with their beady eyes
As they skip and have fun

Across the way
In the grassy plains
That are warmed by the daytime sun
The unicorns play
Their bodies are pure white
Their manes and tails, the colour of plum

They are a beautiful sight
To see them dance and play until night
This is when the Pegasus’s take flight
They fly at great heights

They must see some amazing things
But not as amazing as in my dreams
When I wake up I feel sad
But then I remember about the dreams
I had
And I can’t wait until the next night
When I take flight with the Pegasus’s
In my wonderland

Bruised But Not Beaten

You could put me down
And turn my hopeful smile into an unhappy frown
But you couldn't keep me down for long
Because my mind, and my will are still strong

You could call me all the names under the sun
But you can't stop me having my share of the fun

You could run me into the ground
But always remember what comes around goes around

You could shoot a hole through my heart
But I won't let myself fall apart

You could say I'm not that smart
Or that I can't play the part

But since I have found my art
I have started to belive in myself
And my health has improved
Because I have moved on
And this is because now I've realized all along
That the things you used to say about me were wrong.

The Loss of An Inspiration

Wow, that's all I can say
That's all I could think of when I found out that day
When I first found out about it, I thought it was a hoax
Somebody's twisted idea of a joke
But sadly it turned out to be true
And the world was robbed of you
'Another rapper dead'
The headlines read
So little said
You had an amazing gift
Every time I put on your music, it gives me a lift
You inspired me
Helped me
You put your life and love into your art
And that's why you were able to capture so many hearts
I hope before you were taken away, you realized this
I wish you were still here , but you will always be in my heart
And you will be forever missed.
