Bruised But Not Beaten

You could put me down
And turn my hopeful smile into an unhappy frown
But you couldn't keep me down for long
Because my mind, and my will are still strong

You could call me all the names under the sun
But you can't stop me having my share of the fun

You could run me into the ground
But always remember what comes around goes around

You could shoot a hole through my heart
But I won't let myself fall apart

You could say I'm not that smart
Or that I can't play the part

But since I have found my art
I have started to belive in myself
And my health has improved
Because I have moved on
And this is because now I've realized all along
That the things you used to say about me were wrong.
