Kristen La Fontaine Poem
So young, so vibrant, so full of life
But just like that you were gone, in the blink of an eye
So God picked you up on the wings of a butterfly.
You were as bright as the colors on a butterfly’s wings
You where ready to go when you heard the heavenly choir sing
So God picked you up on the wings of a butterfly.
You lived life to the fullest till the end
In my heart I know I didn’t lose you even in death
Even though it’s hard I know that God only takes the best.
So God picked you up on the wings of a butterfly.
I ask myself why he took you away
Oh, how badly I wanted you to stay
I remember how much I cried that day
Without you my life will never be the same
But I’m glad he picked you up on a butterfly’s wings.
When I see a butterfly I will think of you
Souring high in a sky of endless blue.
I’ll always remember the day
When God picked you up on a butterfly’s wings.
“We miss you, we love you and we’ll be together some day.”

Kristen La Fontaine Poem
I wear a mask to hide my heart
This face in the mirror tares me apart.
I wear a mask to hide what others should not know
Without my mask I’d be forced to bare my soul.
I wear a mask because it is my shield
Without it everyone would know what I feel
I wear a mask to hide myself
I can’t let anyone know that I need help.
I wear a mask to hide my tears
I guess I hope it takes away my fears.
I wear a mask to hide my shame
And all of my self-blame.
I wear a mask to show everyone false inside
This way no one how much I cry.
I wear a mask to hide my heart
Maybe someday I can break this mask apart.

Kristen La Fontaine Poem
You started drinking to numb the pain
You can’t even remember what you were before he came
His name is Jack and he is driving you insane.
He has made you angry and enraged
He has made it so that you take it out on her face
Your baby sees this but you want to change
Jack is the one who is filling you with hate.
He has turned you into something you are not
You have drank so much that your mind is shot
Enough is enough; I’m begging you, you need to stop
He has made you a monster and Jack is his name.
One night you go out to meet Jack
You’ve had so much that you’ve lost count
You get into the car and drive home
Little do you know you’ll be in a coffin instead
You drive off a bridge with jack in your hand
And just like that Jack brought your life to an end.

Kristen La Fontaine Poem
In the shadows that’s were I am,
It seems that every time the light is near,
The sun hides behind the clouds as if in fear,
The sun she leaves me in the dark to cry my tears.
The shadows are like chains,
That keeps me bound to never ending darkness filled with fear and shame,
Slowly pulling me away,
In the shadows were I stay.
In the shadows my demons lurk,
They show me no mercy,
They tell me this is your life, your curse, what makes you weak,
I scream inside leave me be, it hurt’s can’t you see.
In the shadows.

Kristen La Fontaine Poem
He walks the streets alone.
No friends no family no place to call home.
This is the man they call Joe.
He walks from corner to corner.
Asking those who pass for a quarter.
This is the man they call Joe.
When people walk past they turn their heads and laugh.
But what they don’t is he is sad because he wishes for what they have.
This is the man they call Joe.
He lives in a box without a roof.
He has holes in the bottom of his shoes.
This is the man they call Joe.
He spent most of his life lonely and alone.
The people who laugh don’t what it’s like without a home.
This is the man they call Joe.
He used to walk the street.
Looking for something to eat.
But nobody noticed he no longer walks the streets.
This was the story of the man they once called Joe.
