The Good Servant's Reward

THE GOOD SERVANT'S REWARD

Come my servant, I am waiting, in the light of God alone.
Do you believe the promise given, are you ready to come home?
The account books have all been written, now we review the score.
Were you a believer in God's garden, did you tell of heaven's door?

When the Master calls, will you be ready, to be with Him for eternity?
He only asked that you believe Him, Just reach out and you'll be free.
The journey will be joyful, the path cleared to show the way.
When you cross over the Jordan, fall on your knees and pray.

You've toiled long in His vineyard, you've shared His story along the way.
Your faithfulness will be rewarded, He will know a brighter day.
You've served the Father with love and honor, you've studied hard His promise true.
Now its time to be rewarded, God spreads His arms to welcome you.

Your treasure now is waiting, when you pass the golden gate.
So welcome home my servant, you no longer have to wait.
Come home to Jesus from your toil, it is time for you to rest.
The good servant will be rewarded, you have passed the holy test.

The Power of Faith

Why do birds have wings,
Did you ever watch them fly?
Gracefully they fill the air,
Beauty in the sky.

Why do puppies wag their tail,
Their happiness so pure?
The little squeeks and special sounds,
Steal your heart for sure.

Why do trees have leaves,
Their branches reaching far?
Their start in life a tiny seed,
Their growth wonder and awe.

Why does the sun rise in the East,
Brighten our life each day?
It then sets in the West,
When it is time to go away.

Why do flowers only bloom,
For a little while?
We enjoy their beauty,
They soon go out of style.

Why is there a rainbow,
Whose colors have no end?
Why is it not straight,
Instead of in a bend?

Moses brought the Israelites,
Out of Egypt's land.
How did they get there anyway,
We do not understand.

Thomas, do you believe,
Because you see and feel?
Bless those who accept the Son,
For it is God's Will.

Boo

BOO

Witches n' goblins
Will be at the door.
Funny faced children,
Some are a boor.

Tiny people, dressed up so cute,
You just want to hug them,
Give them the loot.]\

Some dressed as angels,
With mom's homemade wings.
Will bring smiles to your face,
When the doorbell rings.

Some kids will be naughty,
As they ring the bell and run.
Or call on the phone,
Hang up just for fun.

Family pets will go crazy,
With every new sound.
As they run to the door,
In a noisy bound.

Take it all with a smile,
For each yer it has been.
A spooky old night,
And enjoy Halloween.

Reading

READING

Always have a book at hand,
In the parlor, bedroom and loo.
Condensed thought on paper,
This is the world for you.

My daughter loves to read,
Must have something to hold.
No cover or pages,
Not even a center fold.

Electronic books these days,
For the person on the go.
Flip it on for convenience,
Living color, like a show.

Reading can entertain,
Delight the lonely heart.
Those without education condemn it,
The learned ones tear it apart.

The many pieces of the written word,
Bring light to those in the dark.
Challenge the mind of the curious,
Give your life a spark.

No entertainment is so cheap,
No pleasure lasts as long.
Your mind flies o'er the pages,
The words are like a song.

The love of reading,
Challenges the soul.
Nothing else given to man,
Can make one whole.

There are those who read,
To know what the world has done.
Others to enhance their personal life,
To be the brightest one.

December 2015

DECEMBER 2015 - "For what is our hope, our joy, or the crown, in which we glory in the presence of our Lord Jesus when He comes?" 1 Thessalonians 2:19

This year America waits,
With great anticipation.
For peace, love and joy,
Throughout the nation.

Christians are under attack,
For what is in their heart.
Hatred fills the air,
Our nation torn apart.

Death in our schools,
Murder on the streets.
Hurry, Jesus, we pray,
Before their goal is complete.

Freedom Religion,
A promise written true.
Not it's only if you follow theirs,
Christians know not what tio do.

We read more every day,
How we must suffer for His Cause.
Evil ones in control,
they pass the laws.

There was a time in history,
It was so long ago.
God sent His Only Son,
To teach us how to go.

In a humble stable He was born,
Written Word said it would be.
People given a reason to believe,
Praised Him in songs of victory.

We are lost without His son,
The Bright Star for all to see.
Please give us another sign,
To set Your People free.

Days of Feasting and Gladness

MAKE THEM DAYS OF FEASTING AND GLADNESS - Book of Esther 9:22

Today we celebrate,
History comes alive.
Purim arrives this month,
All people shall thrive.

Feasting and gladness,
The order of the day.
History shouts the story,
We live to laugh and pray.

We are tired of kings and leaders,
Who promise all the world.
But become tyrants,
When the banner is unfurled.

The walled city has come down,
The trumpet sound was heard.
God led Joshua,
He followed God's Holy Word.

Why is it throughout the years,
Evil men rise to power.
"Destroy this race", they say,
It will be our finest hour.

Esther faced the king,
Revealed his horrid plan.
The monarch suffered humility,
From Pur the humble man.

We remember Adolf Hitler,
Joseph Stalin and such.
The same godless deeds,
Soon they were out of touch.

Celebrate the season,
Give gifts and love your friends.
These are God's Chosen People,
We support them to the end.

America's Noblest Motive

AMERICA'S NOBLEST MOTIVE
"The noble man makes noble plans, and by noble deeds he stands" Isaiah 32:8

Decoration Day, declared,
For homes and everywhere.
Flags and flowers now in vogue,
Want us to be aware.

Battles rage, war goes on,
When will it cease?
Americans died in uniform,
Remember our own, please.

Memorial Day it now is called,
Our heroes names we read.
The sound of Taps, a mother's tears,
A sorrowing time indeed.

June 14th comes along,
Our flag to honor true.
For those colors many bled and died,
The red, the white and the blue.

Soon now, we do it again,
Independence Day is nigh.
Freedom bought with lives,
Raise the flag up high.

In November we honor Veternas,
All are heroes now.
Every gender, race, religion,
To you we humbly bow.

Are four days in a year enough,
Their service to recall?
Parents, families and friends,
Will kneel and praise them all.

Lord we give them back to you,
Your Promise to fulfill.
Thank you for sharing them here on earth,
We miss them still.

One Pair of Hands

ONE PAIR OF HANDS
"Make it your ambition...to work with your hands". 1 Thessalonians 4:11

My dad was a coal miner,
Worked with his hands all day.
As evening came, he took time,
To fold those hands and pray.

A pick and shovel were the tools,
16 tons for his pay.
Calloused hands gave this service,
It is the miner's way.

A family to feed, clothe and guide,
A home where we gathered with love.
That's how it is in Windber, PA,
With guidance from above.

He taught me how to prune a tree,
To mow the lawn and such.
Landscaping and trim the hedge,
It really was not much.

Your hands, he would say,
Are guided by God's Son.
He healed the sick, raised the dead,
Christ is the special one.

He raised His hands in prayer,
Loaves and fishes He did serve.
Broke bread and served the wine,
More than we deserve.

These hands nailed to a tree,
An innocent man condemned.
They bled as He asked His Father,
Please bring it to an end.

One day we will be with Him,
In glorious heaven lands.
Please find a place for your servant,
Look at these working hands.

I Hear the Master Calling

I HEAR THE MASTER CALLING

Come my servant, I am waiting,
In the light of God's own Son.
Do you believe the promise given?
Do you believe He is the One?

When the Master calls, will you be ready?
To be with Him in heaven's land?
He only asked that you believe him,
Just reach out and take His hand.

You've toiled long in His vineyard,
Your faithful life has been observed,
You've served Our Lord with love and honor.
You've studied hard and know His Word.

Your reward is waiting,
When you cross the shore.
So come my servant, home to Jesus,
You've earned a rest, to toil no more.

Walk Humbly With God

WALK HUMBLY WITH GOD
 (Micah 6:8)

Holidays come and go,
The memories just fly by.
Is there a reason to celebrate,
At times I wonder why.

Christmas will soon be here,
Peace, Love, Joy and all that stuff.
Pretty lights, decorations too,
Is it truly enough?

People are different at Christmas time,
Something gets into their soul.
The grouchy boss all through the year,
Suddenly becomes whole.

The neighbor you disliked this year,
Today has a smile.
Perhaps he's not all that bad,
It just may take a while.

What message have we given,
Each day throughout the year?
Did it make someone feel special,
Maybe a little tear.

Parents in the next booth,
A prayer with head bowed.
Not often seen in a restaurant,
Many have forgotten how.

Their children were delightful,
Well mannered and polite.
I'll not forget this evening,
It is a special night.

When we walk humbly with God,
We look for good in all.
In this hectic world we live in,
Answer Our Father's call.
