War With Demons

The harsh winds bite at my very soul
Alone I sit, waiting for the fight to commence
Heart racing, sweat pours despite the cold

Caution…not today
The warrior reaps the spoils
Cowards merely pray

Scars are reminders
Painful, but not fatal
Lessons of a fighter

Forward! I march to claim what is mine
Steel raised above my head
My sword of truth transcends time

Seize the day!
Lord steady thy hand
Use wisdom, guide my way

The moment is now
Not past heartaches
Nor future vows

Slay the demons, for they must fall
Thrust thy sword deep
Only then will I hear Victory’s call

Love of a Good Woman

A better man I strive to be
The love of a good woman is all I need
I can provide, I can lead
I can protect, I can feed
If she is sick, I can treat
If she needs to vent, I can just be
I am strong, strong as the trees
If she opens her eyes, she will see
The love of a good woman is all I need

Love True

In this moment we begin anew
Memories of the past fade, hope and trust renewed

It is said there are things in life simply meant to be
no rhyme or reason, elusive answers not clear to see

Finding your soulmate is precious, a rare event Indeed
Not recognizing it is common, grasping hold when you do is key

For sensations of love are fickle, thoughts often deceive
the bodies touch tickles, leaving illusions that cannot be

Only when souls unite can true love grow
for the soul knows only truth, it stays pure as untouched snow

We enter this together my darling, not out of necessity or need
We can conquer life together, souls united, there is nothing we cannot achieve

Dust From the Past

Dust from the past, layered in youths callow
Desperate to be forgiven, for sins committed
Wrongs done in ignorance should be omitted

Dust from the past, covers the shallow
Fear of failure, insecure self worth
Heat needs to rise from this emotional hearth

Dust from the past, it casts a shadow
Anxious to wash it away, make it clean
Start over, be clearly seen

To late...

Starting Over

Long has it been since I’ve been content
Sacrifices I’ve made…
Dreams I’ve let stray…
Long has it been with wasted time spent

This emptiness has taken its toll
I need passion…
Love everlasting…
This emptiness kills my soul

Today I pledge a new course for life
Find my soul mate…
A woman to relate…
Today I pledge myself to my future wife

Wisdom gained will guide our union
Lessons learned…
Feelings discerned…
Wisdom gained will prevent ruin

Love's Song

Love has sang it's mysterious song to me a few times

Never has the melody been so beautiful as it is now
The words so clear...so enticing...so mesmerizing...so loud

Pentrating
Pulsating
Liberating

I dance to the rhythm and embrace loves tune
I can't help but surrender, completely vulnerable, open...In a trance...on a cloud
The music plays, not ending any time soon
it's chorus so magical and tender, I sing along...happy and proud

False Peace

When it rains it brings me a false peace
It's hard to explain, I just feel at ease
Perhaps it's because people run inside
They don't want to get wet, so they run and hide
At that moment we are of like mind
They want shelter, they wait for a sign
Unknowingly they join me and enter my domain
It's a cold place, much like the rain
But when the sky clears, they feel free to roam
Unfortunately for me I'm stuck inside, all alone

Cause and Affect

I try to teach them well
Lessons learned, wisdom I have gained
Guide them through a relevant tale
Help them via lessons I've attained
Preparing them to become good men
Molding them as best I can

It gets harder these days
I'm not there to oversee
Make sure they don't stray
Provide them with what's needed
And know they are okay

Tis no easy thing
They need their father
Knowledge that I bring
I simply cannot falter

It's sad though
Still so much
Left to show

And soon
They will

GO

Walls

Words flow, senses heightened
Buried emotions rise, enough to frighten
Souls unite, desires flare
Passion unbridled, fate wouldn’t dare

Truth damning, cold and unkind
Hurtfull moments, seared to mind
Fading pleasure, destined to end
Trapped by truth, struggle within

Darkness approaches, destiny so near
Painful reminders, validate the fear
Unfulfilled needs, emptiness abound
Darkness approaches, closing in…all around

Destination Hell

How did we get here? How did we get to this barren dark place?
Come my love, we can leave, leave this waste of space
I know a way out of here, I’ve seen all the signs
This can’t be our final destination, happiness we can still find

You led us here, here to this “barren place”
I followed every wrong turn you made, every mistake!
How can I trust you, trust you to find the right way?
How can I believe you, believe anything you say?

Take my hand darling, trust me and just take a chance
Let me give you wonder, beauty, song and dance
Where I want us to go is an old and ancient land
We could make love on the beaches of fine white sand

That place sounds wonderful, but here is where I’ll stay
Trust I no longer have, take a chance…no way!
This is my home now, just go and be gone
Find someone else to make love to, someone else to con

Damn you woman, I’m trying to make amends!
Why can’t you see that, let me make up for my sins?
I know we are here mainly due to my error
Are you free from mistakes that led us here?

Blah blah blah, that’s all I hear
As soon as we arrived, things became clear
I want nothing more from you
Please just go and start new
