Horrible Boss

HORRIBLE BOSS

Why do you treat me, as if I do not even matter,

Why does it not phase you that it’s my heart you have shattered?

You talk to everyone else, as if they mean a thing to you,

But to me it’s like I’m something, you spit out then chewed.

Did anyone ever teach you, about the golden rule?

Treat other unto you, and never be so cruel.

I had it all mapped out, my future carefully planned;

And then you came along, turning my dreams to sinking sand.

Time and time I’ve thought, the tears I carefully hide;

Wondering should I leave, or stay upon this ride.

I never thought I would, meet someone like you;

To take such hurtful comments, and make them all seem true.

You seem to be persistent, on always trying to hurt me;

Telling others lies, which from you, they must believe.

Well let me tell you now, something you must know;

You could never take my career, no matter how you run the show.

My heart has been through plenty, that’s why I am so smart;

I guess you underestimated me, right from the very start.

Sunset Lake

SUNSET LAKE

On a windy Easter Sunday, the sun was shining bright.
A group of people went to the river for an afternoon delight.
Even though it was last minute, we surely did not care;
all we wanted was some fun and feel the wind blow through our hair.
None of us were ready for what we had in store,
all we knew was we had friendships, lasting beyond that sandy shore.
Some of us took pictures, all of us drank beer;
and as that sun went down, it quickly drew us near.
Talking about loved ones, whose soul's clearly remain,
brought us all together.. Every story was explained.
Who knew on that one day, so very much could happen,
and relationships could be formed and continue with so much passion.
Even though it is still early, and there are more memories to make,
I still would choose the river.. Over any Sunset Lake.

Struck Out

Today at 8:05 AM

Why must we feel stuck, as if we can't get out.
Instead of positive on our minds, most are filled with doubts.
This life was never meant, to be easy for a second.
That's why before blessings, we are taught many lessons.
So many people, think they're alone on this ride.
Always seen with a smile but it's the hurt that they hide.
I am here to tell you, I promise that you're not.
All you have to do, is give happiness a shot.
We all walk by one another, passing on the streets.
Never knowing what that stranger, would give anything to defeat.
It really is not that hard, offering to help someone.
Do you not have struggles, that you wish were undone?
Why does one judge so hard, when they do not even know.
Why cut someone off, when there is so much left to show.
If each person in the world..gave one stranger a chance, life would be more beautiful.. From just a single glance.
When all we ever hear about, are the sad things and the bad.. It makes it haft to remember, the great things we all once had.
If you really want change.. You have to be just that, if you think the world has struck out, then maybe you're up to bat.

I Am a Warrior

I AM A WARRIOR

I am a warrior, at least that’s what they say.
But what they don’t realize, are all of the hard times
That have ever come my way.
I find myself asking, why things happen like they do.
But then I hear a voice from within, saying “I believe in you.”
How can someone walk out on you,
Who was always your best friend?
Leaving you so hurt, and with a broken heart to mend.
Life doesn’t give us answers, right when we need them;
But I’ve learned to keep my Faith strong,
And continue to trust in Him.
We learn to just get up, and move past the struggles before;
Because there is so much happiness and life,
On the other side of the door.
A warrior never stops, he always faces the fight;
Because he knows what he has been through,
And will one day see the light.
We must never give up, no matter how hard it gets,
Because we are strong, and warriors never quit.

Life Lessons

LIFE LESSONS

Sometimes you just meet people, it doesn't always make sense;
maybe sent to make you happy or a little less tense.
Either way these people come into our lives I know,
to teach us more about ourselves, more that we should know.
These people could be good, these people could be bad;
these people could teach us lessons that we probably never had.
We can take it how we want, we can choose to hang around;
we can choose to answer with words or not even make a sound.
Everyone we meet knows something that we don't.
Some choose to listen while others just won't.
People seem too different, but one way they do appear,
are to show us so much life, to make things crystal clear.
If you ever meet someone, who at first you don't accept,
think long down the road, could you live with that regret?
Never be so sure, to let one person go,
because life has a funny way of showing us,
what we all must know.

Learning How To Love

LEARNING HOW TO LOVE

I want a love that’s different, from every other one.

A kind that keeps me dreaming, and will never make me run.

Every woman wants, a fairytale of her own;

But it’s hard to keep believing, when only lies have been shown.

Love means so much more, than smiles and lots of laughter;

Life has us convinced, it’s happily ever after.

Maybe to most it is, but how are we to know;

How does one let down her walls, when love has left her low?

It may not be so easy, to push burdens aside;

But after all, this is life, and we should enjoy the ride.

We have to get past, every hurt we have been through;

Starting solely with finding, the strength that’s within you.

How I Love You

HOW I LOVE YOU

I’ve shared with you my plans,

I’ve shared with you my history;

So why do you continue, to be such a mystery?

I opened up to you, with my heart on my sleeve;

But lately I’ve been wondering,

If I should just leave.

For years I was hurt,

Love played me a fool.

Never again would that happen,

I made that my rule.

And then I met you,

Like a breath of fresh air,

I caught myself asking, “Do I want to go there?”

You’ve made it all clear,

Life, happiness and love,

And I’ll tell you every day,

You’re my gift from above.

I’ve given you my heart,

And shared with you my past,

Solely because I believe in this,

This love I know will last.

A relationship requires, things from two souls,

Mending two broken hearts, who will soon become whole.

Sometimes we get scared,

And want to run away;

But I promise you now, my love is here to stay.

Nothing is perfect, this we all know;

But our love is for real, even when it’s hard to show.

Promise me, you’ll know, that our love we have is true;

Because I promise every day, I fall more in love with you.

Flaming Heart

Flaming Heart

If you would take a second
And try to just slow down,
Listen to people talk
And do not make a sound.
One too many times
Your heart has been broken,
Leaving you so hurt
And with a mound of emotions.
I know your soul is torn
And I know you may be scared,
But we have all fought battles,
When we were the least bit prepared.
You know you try to hide
Your hurt and your pain,
Covering your wounds
So you never have to explain.
We always will have battles
God gives us lots of tests,
Don't you see that this is one.. To see how much you're blessed?
Take the time right now
To open your eyes and ears,
I am here to help you
And to bury all your fears.
Ever since day one
I have always cared,
Try to let one love you..with whom your stories you have shared.
I am your biggest fan
That, you already know,
Open up to love...
And allow your heart to grow.
