Let's Start Over

I'm cool but not worth your time
I'm pretty but not a dime
We had a spark but now it's gone
And you have your eye on someone
We were friends and it was great
Now I'm a problem on your plate
It doesn't matter what I say
It seems to piss you off anyway
You liked me at one point
And would possibly date me
But all that is changed
because you think I'm crazy
Yes I say the darnest things
And yeah I'm quite sarcastic
But do you really expect me to cover my words with plastic
Sometimes I wish we could start over
I feel we got off on the wrong foot
If you really new me we'll
Everything would be good
Pretend we've never met
And know nothing about each other
I'd really like to rewrite our story
And for you to draw a new cover

Young Man

Young Man

something in my mind is telling me not to believe it
something in my mind is telling me its not true
something in my mind is telling me your not gone
because nothing’s worse than the thought of losing you

young man behind the camera
altering the view
young man without socks
putting yourself in other’s shoes
young man wearing a huge smile
contagious as the flu
living life asking himself
what would Jesus do

no one on the face of this earth was quite like you
no one on the face of this earth had your vision
no one on the face of this earth could undo
the lives you’ve changed and made brand new

young man behind the camera
altering the view
young man without socks
putting yourself in other’s shoes
young man wearing a huge smile
contagious as the flu
living life asking himself
what would Jesus do

and right now God is looking down at the people you’ve touched
and right now God wants them to know you loved them so much
and right now God is proud to call you his son
as for the rest of His house we come together as one

young man behind the camera
altering the view
young man without socks
putting yourself in other’s shoes
young man wearing a huge smile
contagious as the flu
living life asking himself
what would Jesus do

bright smile
big heart
young man
set apart
destined
for greatness
the one and only

Drowning in the Ocean

I'm drowning in the ocean
running out of breath
With no one close to save me
and not a second left
My faith is getting weary,
my vision is quite blurred,
I don't know what to do,
my thoughts are so unsure
How do I end this nightmare it's hopeless
Death is here at its closest I'm breathless
The ocean waves push
And fight me with such strength
my life slowly fading
walking on the plank
My feet touch the bottom
As I scramble to arise
Quickly wiping tears
that slip from my eyes
How do I end this nightmare it's hopeless
Death is here at its closest I'm breathless
I take a deep breath
as water enters pores
while time decides to escape
between closed doors
Trying to breath out
surrounded by a trap
Water filling space
between every gap
How do I end this nightmare it's hopeless
Death is here at its closest I'm breathless
Darkness covers my eyes
There’s not a thing I see
Every thought in mind
Is slowly disappearing
I never wanted to end
Especially this way
But as the life of a flower
death shall not delay.

The Great Comforter

You’ve lost a father, husband, and friend
It happened so sudden but it’s not the end.

Jesus is with us through every stride,
He brings us the comforter as our guide.

God loves you very much and he wants you to know,
He’ll guide and shelter you wherever you go.

This loss wasn’t a fault but more of a reason,
To come closer to God no matter the season.

It is very hard to comprehend a loss,
Jesus gave us eternal life when he died on the cross.

You’ve lost your love and often feel alone,
He walked with the Lord and was called home.

Jesus is now your father, comforter, and friend, Until that day we look
forward to, when we’ll meet him in the end.

The Truth

Oh the best of friends we were
No one closer there could be
Until one day a spark
Lit up inside of me

It revealed to me the truth
Of what you had to hide
Thought I could trust you
What was I thinking a lie?

Mother always told me
To be aware of the deceiver
And not to be caught dead
As the dumbfounded believer

You thought you had me fooled
Think again because your wrong
Your schemes and dirty lies
Are no more so, so long
