Joseph Robinson Poem
Intrinsic Fear
I crossed the old threshold
This new familiar home
The days turned into night
I turned to flight not fight
Then I heard his voice, a voice
From long ago…
Who knew you were he
I never was so bold
When faced with disgrace
Of the intrinsic fear of old
His voice told me to stay
To learn his gift of sway
It came as a surprise
When I looked into his eyes
And saw a girl, a girl from
Long ago…
I tried the vision to go
But I didn’t want her to know
The truth that stung her eyes
When we fell from ancient skies
I thought we cried a long,
Long time ago…

Joseph Robinson Poem
WAKE
Barefoot belly dancer of lucid waking
Feel the breath of the morning star
Satin curves deliciously placating
My will is tired I’ve gone too far
Native bird song of placid beauty
Server the servants from open sky
Palm outstretched she says come with me
Can’t go back Lot don’t even try
To ask for pardon is to forsake her
Thoughts meander from my heart
Sign the deed with pen and passion
Wake to the hour of the darkest dawn
Take me back, someone wake me
I can’t deal with the mornings fear
Time stood still down on her street
Swimming home in a river of tears
