Who Are We

Sometimes I wonder where I am in the scheme of things;
I often ponder who I am.
The more I age the more epiphany's I get;
each of them making a different man.
Yesterday's me could never foresee who I am now.
I can't pretend I'm not surprised.
Who I have become seems to be a stranger to me,
It's like I'm looking through another man's eyes

Who am I, who are you, who are we
Whoever we are, is it who we should be?
Is there a reason for all this, is there something I missed
that could tell me definitively
Who I am, who you are, who are we

Do you ever wonder if there's more than meets the eye;
something's afoot behind the scenes?
Is there a point to this life we live pointlessly,
that couldn't be imagined in our dreams?
Do tears cried throughout the years, have purpose in the end,
or should we weep more because they don't?
I think everyone should seek for a reason in life
There's no chance of finding meaning if you won't

Who am I, who are you, who are we
Whoever we are, is it who we should be?
Is there a reason for all this, is there something I missed
that could tell me definitively
Who I am, who you are, who are we

Why did I bring this all up anyway
Just sharing thoughts as I think of a tune
I guess I just had to get it all out
as I write me a song in my room;
musing on life as I do

Who am I, who are you, who are we
Whoever we are, is it who we should be?
Is there a reason for all this, is there something I missed
that could tell me definitively
Who I am, who you are, who are we

Destiny

Fates fixated friend
Unalterable, but made
Inevitable

Little Wood Box

In a little wood box
lies her greatest treasure
A priceless gem
worth can't be measured

In a little wood box
There's a pair of shoes
A special gift
for church and school

She wants to run to it
Wants to look inside
But she can only sit
and stare wide eyed
There's someone talking
she can't hear
There's music playing
soft somewhere
But she just hears the clock
as she stares at a little wood box

In a little wood box
There's a pair of glasses
They're custom made
In the latest fashion

In a little wood box
Is a little bow tie
Made it herself
for her special guy

Her husband helps her up
holds her close to him
walks her through the crowd
people watching them
If it wasn't for him
she couldn't move
It's seems so surreal
so untrue
And finally when they stop
she looks into that little wood box

Just eight years old
in his young prime
Made it to school
but never left this time
Her dreams shot down
in the blink of an eye
a man took his life
she still wonders why

In that little wood box
she brushes off his shoes
straightens his glasses
and his bow tie too

In that little wood box
lies her greatest treasure
A priceless gem
worth can't be measured

Beautiful Rainbow

Perfect placed prism,
arching past fields of lilies.
The beauty of storms

You

I'm fading into oblivion; I am slowly disappearing under the shadow of who has no comparison. I am but a speck in the grandness before me. My love; you.

The Awakening

So calm, so serene, so beautiful;
like a sleeping angel from paradise.
A slumbering child;
symbolic of true love,
of tranquility,
of peace;
of all good things endangered.
Sweet dreams my child,
sweet dreams.
For tomorrow you awake.

Digital Disaster

Digital disaster on the horizon.
With a monitor tan he plunges on.
One's and zero's spew pixilated perversion,
while assembled atoms await in his bed.
The molecular world, violated by binary delight,
will forfeit its reality, and go offline.
Digital disaster is on the horizon
and a life's work about to be lost.
The virus is spreading.

Unheard Word

(Vs)
I can't say I love you
love's not a strong enough word
It's beyond and above that
It's a word never heard

(Vs)
I can't even describe it
It can't be fathomed with ease
Comparisons are few
and there's none that would please

(Ch)
It's an unheard word, never uttered before
Cannot be written, only felt and explored
You can call it love, just to be assured
But it's something else,
it's an unheard word

(Vs)
Call it transcendental
This intensity I feel
Regard it as surpassing
What we know as real

(Vs)
It's too deep for me to grasp
but so easy to be felt
It is love at its grandest
yet above where it has dwelt

(Bridge)
How do you describe what's out of reach;
beyond what you thought you could feel?
What can you say to convey it's depth
without making it seem unreal?

(Ch)
It's an unheard word, never uttered before
Cannot be written, only felt and explored
You can call it love, just to be assured
But it's something else,
it's an unheard word

I Can'T Breathe

[Verse]
I'm just a used chrysalis who's butterfly has flown
empty as a vacuum and twice as freezing cold
Alone as a pendulum without a clock to grace
broken as the lines that crack a tortured face

[Pre Chorus]
Anguish is all I know right now
Despair that knows no depths
I'm so inconsolable
I can't catch my breath

[Chorus]
I can't breathe without your breath upon me
I can't breathe without your lips to mine
I can't breathe, resuscitate me
Give me a chance to breathe just one more time

[Verse]
With harsh words as sharp as a cold razors edge
I cut and bled you of every tear I could dredge
Broke you like our picture I threw against the door
Then lost you like a ship succumbing to a storm

[Pre Chorus]
Regret fills my heavy heart
Been in tears since you left
I'm so inconsolable
I can't catch my breath

[Chorus]
I can't breathe without your breath upon me
I can't breathe without your lips to mine
I can't breathe, resuscitate me
Give me a chance to breathe just one more time

[Bridge]
I'm sorry for those awful things I said to you that day
There's no excuse, just the fact I was a fool
I don't deserve forgiveness, but I'm asking anyway
Your love sustains me, and my life depends on you

[Chorus]
I can't breathe without your breath upon me
I can't breathe without your lips to mine
I can't breathe, resuscitate me
Give me a chance to breathe just one more time

I Visit Me

Deep down within my soul
as far as I can go;
I visit me;
the me that's real.

Somewhere in my heart
in a part not torn apart
I visit me;
where I still feel.

I visit me,
the me you don't see.

Buried deep within my mind
in a place that's hard to find
I visit me;
where hope still lives.

At the core of my being,
where I bottle everything;
I visit me;
the me that still forgives.

I visit me,
the me you don't see.

Someday I may show myself,
and finally be revealed
What scares me
Is what me
there'll be
left to see, by the time I'm healed

Deep down within my soul
as far as I can go;
I visit me;
the me that's real.

I visit me
I visit me
