Yesterday I thought of you
and my heart shed a tear
For the memories all but forgotten
that always were so dear
I wish we could have stopped in time
no room for things to change
I liked them just the way they were
now everything seems so strange
But really things have not been lost
you're always on my mind
Someday we'll be together again
in a dream of another time.

I do believe the Lord above
created you for me to love
He choose you above all the rest
'cause He knew I'd love you the best
If you should pass before I do
please wait until my chores are through
Wait for me by the Golden Stairs
and together we'll have no cares.
