Oh To Be Young Again

Oh to be young again
To climb and hang from trees
Just another day of being 10
Falling and scuffing my knees

Oh to be young again
Playing football all day in the park
Calling on my favourite friends
Straight home as soon as it gets dark

Oh to be young again
No responsibilities or expectations
Using any debris to build a den
No anti social temptations

Oh to be young again
So I can appreciate the simpler times
No need to have the latest trend
Playing football despite no ball signs

Our parents told told us over and over
Enjoy these times whilst we can
If only we weren't in such rush
We would have had way more fun!

This Girl

This girl changed me for the better
This girl changed me for the good
Something I could not do myself
She simply understood

This girl changed the way I live
This girl changed the way I behave
These differences were just what I need
And this is the way I'll stay

This girl changed the way I think
This girl changed my thoughts on money
Even after one fulfilling year
I get flutters in my tummy

This girl has changed my life as a whole
This girl changed my life trajectory
This girl has given me hope and strength
For I was blind but now I see

New Year

It's Hogmanay the 31st
Only alchahol to quench the thirst
Its time again for the new year plan
Let's start the calendar with a bang

Resolutions, solutions and promises
Each with their own their always is
But the secret, the key to achieve
Is to think and choose realistically

Epiphanies and life style choices
Are often mistaken to easily anew
Only the true, genuine and determined
Are the successors who make it through

What I'm trying to say is don't set the bar too high
Without real commitment your limits are not the sky
Don't fill yourself up with false hopes and lies
Such as desires far to hard to try

Metaphoric Experience

There's this game I've been
playing

And it's taught me stuff

I've not had it long

But I've played enough to know

If I don’t turn back now

It's going to be rough

I'm looking for some luck cos' I
feel real stuck

The first few levels

Were easy to complete

They make the deep end look
like a couple of feet

But as the game progressed

It picked up the heat

Now the Mother-****ing
shallow end looks deep.

The Story-Line was mind
blowing at the start

Slowly I climbed up , Part by
Part

Progressing, Tired, Game saved
in the book

The All nighters took -
Great...now I'm hooked

When I'm playing, I feel
Skillfully Brilliant

Like a militant, untouchable,
full of resilience

I got the skills to pay the bills

All my debts considered repaid

Until what goes up must come
down

One by One people Fade

If you understand the
metaphoric game that I played

Then you understand the steps
I had to take

After two years feeling high I
finally found

This isn't life it's time to come
down.

This Genuine's Speed Bump, Regrettably Processed - Concludes His Addiction, Horizon Success

This dawning morning I broke
my boundaries
Again and again i tell myself
sorry
I previously thought the next
step would never happen
I immediately feel distraught
and ultimately disappointed

An experience wanted but a
regret resulted
I was warned and aware but I
got told bold it could happen
As a young boy i would never
have thought
That I would excite myself with
a narcotic shot
Opiate's , no. Rule all class a's
out
But chemicals sadly , just as
dirty no doubt

What were my thoughts?
Immediately insanity
The only buzz that can beat a
Bugatti
But it's hard to describe the
sensation felt
very enjoyable but mind left
with guilt

I conclude this illegal pleasure
with its overrated
I mean what i say as above it is
stated
Three deep breaths and make
not this mistake
For this is a dark road no one
should take

Head Down, Chin Up

As a human I've found life can be hard
Feeling low, we let down our Guard
Negative thoughts keep us weighed down
Our faces show off merely a frown

Lately though, a changed feel to the Gut
Having kept my head down but always chin up
As a human I've found life can be hard, Yes that's true
But It's a whole lot better now with a Positive attitude

Appreciate Not Slate

So many lifestyles, So many
groups
People being judged like a
cover of a book
Let's shed one last Tear and
Appreciate we're here
For tomorrow's never
promised which to me now is
clear

People blessed enough to still
be on earth
An attitude of gratitude should
globally burst
Let's learn not to hate, teach
each other to forgive
United as one, how God
intended we live

First Crush

So simple but painfully complicated
I'm held back by the fear of being humiliated
So again and again I keep silent and Stare
With a fake smile, pretending not to care.

Your presence is precious, to me you always glow
If only Cupid could step in and unite us with his bow
But I resist and remember, do I really have a chance
To win this girls heart and be rewarded romance.

Sadly I know I'll never fit the part
I'm an underdog that's been loosing right from the start
Until things can be totally different
I think it's best I keep my distance
Because no matter how much I am persistent
She barely notices my existence

Stuck

Almost alone, barely few see me by
I try, I try. I sigh and Sigh
Endless effort shows no means
I try, I try. I cry and cry

For a While

For a while it seemed everything was going swimmingly
Goodbye to concerns, doubts and all the things killing me
For a while the worries grew more distant every day
I remember only feeling sad when the sun went away

To wake up and no longer feel the world on your chest
Breathing everything new and exhaling the stress
Having the ability to concentrate with nothing on your mind
For a while it seemed I had nothing but time.
