Better Peices

You were old and new all at once
A deadly temptation
A glitch in my solid nature
And so I dove head first
And as I did I watched the pieces
Of me break away
To reveal an alien
A rawness, a vulnerability
I had never thought I possessed
Yet there I was
And there you were unchanged
And unaware that I was scrambling
For my better peices

Prisoner

I sabotage my happiness
with every chance I get
I wollow in my sadness
my fears and my regrets

I beg for love to claim me
but I am fearful of its strenght
I stop to smell the flowers
but soon forget their scent

I ache for new adventure
but make no move to progress
I dream of all that could be
but I am un-inspired yet

I have made myself a prisoner
in a cell that's dull and bleak
I view the world through Iron bars
as I sit and rot and weep

Essence of Betrayal

Betrayal, like the coldest wind that
turns to ice in your veins
That cannot be liquefied by
apologetic words or obvious guilt
It only seems to melt when we accept
that people will always do what they want
But shards always remain and the
shock still lingers in the memory
Because you never saw it coming
But now you watch for it and
although the ice has melted, the
coldness reminds you to expect it...

Desire

Desire, an ever burning coal within us
awaiting to be fuelled by a lover or
fame or money for others

An unquenchable thirst for touch
and breathless acts of pleasure
Desire, the dreams of devils and angels

A driven force un-yeilding to so many pleas
An urge that can tear us in half
or simply make us whole

Desire the brilliant and dangerous
wishes from the soul...

Un-Answerable Questions

What will you do?,  they ask
What is your plan?, they insist
Who will you be?, they demand
I stare at them from behind myself
My eyes opaque with indifference
My lips still but my mind frantic
Already struggling to perceive the
present, forced to confront the future
I DO NOT KNOW! The truth cries inside
Panicking now I simply tell them
What I know they like to hear
I give them answers to
unanswerable questions

Coincidence Or Design

Was it by Coincidence or design
That you came to be mine
if only for the night
The only night I wished for no dawn

We stemed from different worlds
but we blossomed in our very own
Our language differed
but our souls understood

Just one night together
and now most likely a lifetime apart
but even that fact cannot taint
Our night, our beating hearts

My soul hopes for yours
And I hope the universe is kind
and brings us back together
by coincidence or design

Once Upon the Earth

There once was a land
so fiercely beautiful and diverse
I recall exquisite creatures
and plants that would seem to burst
into the most peculiarly pretty shapes
With colours as bright and spectatuclar as flames

And all that this land embraced
when seen from its glorious sky
what a masterpeice did it create
Even iron lungs would become breathless
it was a view worthy of only the greatest gods gaze

I would give up the gift of sight
to see this land once more
but you see it suffered a terrible plight
its natives gave suffering instead of support
as they broke, buried and burnt it alive
I watched its land turn grey and coarse

All of the earths glory lost to greed
I have wondered so deeply within
how do you ignore whats under your feet
all that you see and all that you eat
to express my disgust I cant even begin
All I Can say is, destroying nature is
the most potent of sins

The Twirl

You danced with me
under the youthful trees
no music played just
the summer breeze
you took my breath
with every touch
your words were perfect
you said just enough

i tried to hide
how you made me
feel because i knew
that We Just Couldnt Be
You already Had Your Girl
And I Was Just Someone
You Liked to Twirl

That night we spent
beneath the stars
when you told me
you loved me , and
showed me all your scars
that night i should have
held your hand
that night i didnt kiss you
when i should of had

But that night i was
someone elses girl
so all we shared was
a midnight twirl
on those swings
so many stories we
would tell
you were the first
that in love I fell !

To the Obsolete

Pass out your punishment
I care not for your ideals
nor am I capable to accept

Pass out your punishment
Your "logic" offends
and I will not entertain

Pass out your punishment
I fear you not, you are obsolete in my mind
You choose lies before truth
you are unforgivable
and I refuse to be
unforgivable too

The Girl At the River

The girl at the river
with folding mountains
and shaggy trees

Watched two white swans
swaying with the moody breeze

She watched as they danced
and ruffled their feathers

In a way they were separate
but always together

She sat for a while as
she inhaled the moment

She knew in her heart the
swans would always be devoted

And as the swans drifted softly
away with each other

The girl at the river
thought only of her lover
