Norma Arana Poem
Wandering along a lifeless road
cloaked by pashima of acid night,
a metal sky cuts treetops in half
biting her skin beneath pale stars---
tears rush like nickel-blue of isolation
as feet dig cemented steps
to carry heart's burden
past windows of fading regrets.

Norma Arana Poem
Like an endless curve I have reached the bend
Of my destiny to an atmosphere,
Above the horizon, my trails ascend.
Creatures of water swerving their tails,
Galleons roll, cruises of Atlantis
Along the foams, brave the olden fables.
The evening cloudline, glimmering so bright,
My final pilgrimage, the blackest sea;
To the ledge of the isle, a glorious light.
In episodes, I have seen the view of life,
A seafarer hunted by brazen tides,
Crossing again on the crest that abides.
Peaceful wavelets daring my calm inside,
Confronting the ocean of a dark ride.

Norma Arana Poem
Summer
Red lips tattooed
With passion in flames
Moaning of some rare surrender.
Opened buds parting for two souls on fire,
crawling on tanned flesh in pure heat
of sweetened abandon.
Wildflower bleeds
Summer.

Norma Arana Poem
I brave the winds to await summer
And long for days when love duly appears,
Long enough till daylights erupt
Into a sizzle of wistful rendezvous--
While along the pier, a boat-ship far
Moves through me with warm delight.
Preparing the foil of roses fresh,
My hand trembles as the sail nears
That tresses moisten from the wait,
As passengers alight from the door;
Still, your silhouette becomes a haze,
Enough for this heart to fade in the night
Slipping into oblivion, a moment erased
By a dream thinning as summer weeps.

Norma Arana Poem
To weave a word, a fabric of thought,
Each glimpse of bluish image caught.
Sweet tinge of orange scent, half gone
Delicately knitted in flowing, yellowing song.
Old letters laced now in sepia and white,
Each silent sound, grayness of dusk takes flight.
