All Is Well

A single golden light
Danced through the frame,
And spangled out of the dark house
As snow spun downward
Into the abyss of the night.
A man trembled inside
Shaking his head in pain.
Tears grew off his face and
Watered the floor.
He sat for sometime,
Then slid off the couch
And heavily trudged up the stairs.
He opened the door and saw his son, sleeping
Soundly in the swollen room.
The hushed raspy breaths of the boy
Echoed in the stillness of the man's heart.
Moonlight spilled through the pane
tricking the blue curtains to shine.
And in his heart he knew,
All is well.

Then moving to the next room,
Where the form still lay,
Of his teenaged daughter.
Headphones jammed loud in her ears,
Playing the beat of her resistance.
The man was glad she could escape
What he could not.
Softly he leaned over and kissed
Her forehead, whiffing the smell
Of her fresh hair die.
And in his heart he knew,
All is well.

Shutting the door behind him,
Staggered down the stairs,
Leaned on the banister.
His gaze met the open room.
Empty with lace curtains,
Plush couches,
And his spirit glass.
Then through his swollen eyes
He lingered over the pictures on the wall,
And silently walked to his desk.
He pulled the drawer open
A brush of cedar hit his nose,
He use to love that smell.
He pulled out a revolver.
And in his heart he knew,
CLICK
It wasn't.

Recovery

There is a place of solace,
A meadow near a mill,
Where cranes come to gather
And take their bounty fill.
Where gentle walks pass the time
And fears are gone away,
Honeysuckle grows just fine
Its scent to parcel the day.
A moment with the ginger muse
Will rest your weary heart,
Soft waters will be flowing,
With their wings to start.
Across that pond there lies a walk
Overgrown with petals bright,
There you'll find me only when
The shadows turn to light.
I oft come to this sacred place
When I am torn in two,
I am still sitting here today,
Begging to be with you.

Hello To January

Goodbye cloud that
Once held grip,
Out of your arms
Forever.
I have the plan
You cannot take
Away.
I thought I needed
you.
I don't, so bye.
And Hello!
My new friend
Hope.
Tomorrow.
My wings are spread.

Let It Snow - Mistletoe

Sorry eyed and shallow still,
Wanting for that dreamy pill,
Gathering in the blissful plant.
Knowing this that she still can't
Take hold on it purpose sweet,
So she just gathers with sorrow feet.
No handsome balm to wet her lips,
Just fallen weeds where her foot slips.
That magic plant where a kiss is met,
Snow falling, endless net.
Looking back to see her home,
Wishing this year's joy will come.

We Danced

I kinda knew you liked me,
Everyone told me so.
But you made no effort
To ever let me know.
But when your eyes met with mine,
You felt my heart skipped prance,
You walked with me to that refrain,
And oh how long we danced.
We danced until I left your gaze,
Shy and blushing be,
I'll dance with you another day
When you make eyes with me.

Beauty Is Blue

Love is not spread by
Mortal demise,
Love is blue,
Matching your eyes.
Hope is not seen,
Nor is it a word.
It is only felt when
Your voice is heard.
Beauty spreads the lofty view
Others stand so close to you.
I see the stars
In your laugh,
You are my dream,
My epitaph.
Love stained blue,
And beauty be,
Your stride is my
Serenity.

You Know He's the One

Breaths by one who shelters fear,
That whisper given to your ear.

The hand you hold with shaken sound,
The arms that cradle you on the ground.

As fearful tear runs down your cheek,
He wipes them away, your heart to seek.

And with a gentle kiss, replies,
You my love have beautiful eyes.

You blush in return and meet his gaze,
Forgetting all the horrible days.

Heart now pounding out your chest,
You know he's the one, he's the best.

Shaken Breeze

Cornfields whisper sweet nothings,
The sun bashfully sings.
You are the cause of pardon,
To you the leaves are wings.
Young men smile at your wit,
As you steal my hair away.
The hushed rain summons your command
As you capture fearful gray.
Clouds sway at your wish
As my kite follows you.
I hate now what has become
Your powerful empty hue.
No substance begs your reason,
No soul knows your fears.
I have never loved another,
Who fell these shaken tears.

Saying Goodbye

When we are apart the sun doesn't shine,
Birds lose their tune, drought withers a vine.
The summer breeze is never the same,
And Kelly Clarkson looses her fame.
The flowers aren't growing year after year.
Nothings the same if you're not near.
Starlight aint glowing so well anymore,
Then the wind whispers and opens my door,
I feel my heart pumping to finally see,
You standing there looking back at me.
Saying goodbye is harder each day,
When I'm without you I can't find my way.
So please never leave me please hold me tight.
Don't let your departure rage in me night.

One Day I'Ll Reach His Eyes

Undeserving of his gaze.
Unending are his eyes,
He taught my heart to love again,
One day I'll reach him.
One day I'll be able to tell him,
To show him how I feel.
But today I'll just remain still.
Unable to be without him.
Unable to express the joy
His eyes give to me.
One day I might reach his love
And give it in return.
Because in his eyes
I'm finally beautiful.
