Mary Tamburro Poem
Dreaming of sounds
zip boom duh duh doooooooooh
Vibrations melt ideas in my mind
my spirit dips doo dada dah
The sax wails Shimari sails jazz prevails
The blues sneaks up like clandestine souls
that move in and out of warm homes at night
Windy sounds sha sha shoooooooooooooh
Sadness: a necessary entity extends from his hand
to the sax to the air to my ear...and straight to my heart
Then the beat quickens
tada tada taaaaah
Applause and laughter
and always smiles after
The sax wailed Shimari sailed and jazz still prevails

Mary Tamburro Poem
A memory of sand and wind
of thoughts shared, and others not
a cool night, a blanket...our arms touched.
A memory of confusion and fear
of longings shared, and others not
a cool head, a tingle...our hearts touched.
Laughter and smiles, silence and waves
Late night dreams of what could have been
but never was...a memory.

Mary Tamburro Poem
Conjuring, like so many sorcerers, reaching out for deities
My brain invents situations: brand-new realities
Which do not necessarily exist outside of my conscience
Like thousands of workers striking simply to raise class consciousness
Or like amorous advances with secret hidden meanings
(such meanings are absurd, like many Christians still believing)
I even invent futures…things I surely could not know
Similar to violent revolutions coming from below
(or getting reciprocal feelings from someone that you know)
so you see, like many so-called armchair revolutionaries
I have been sitting around, mulling, over future possibilities
Instead of taking to the streets to smash the state (and past relations!)
I just sit around and wait for non-existent situations.
