Even a Blind Man Can Stare Into the Past

Even a blind man can stare into the past, down the road that made him
It isn’t darkness, but a light that shines through
Via the lens of truth and time, our love proves not to be grim
The only thought that pervades, is openly loving you.

Would I choose another path, one with less struggles?
Let my feet guide my mind?
This path I follow is filled with your hugs and snuggles
The only one I want, the only kind

The line we both tread is not perfect, it may waver to and fro
Indeed your thoughts may wander
We are only meant for one another, this we both truly know
Our love for each other, we should never squander

Reminisce and cherish the memories, the passion that makes us one
Taking it for granted would be a shame
Looking forward to the future, realize what we have will never be outdone
If let go, we’d only have ourselves to blame

Staring at the footsteps of our lives, can teach us many things
Mistakes can be forgiven with a prayer and a fast
My heart when contemplating you, bursts forth with joy and truly sings
Even a blind man can stare into the past.
