Rosa Mendonca Poem
New and exciting
Deceitful and sinful
I'd do it again

Rosa Mendonca Poem
Ghosting, the art of avoiding
He plays the game, she plays too
Oh, how best to not be arguing
So transparent, you can see right through
They will never confess
Instead, they remain defensive
No shame, no guilt, just heartless
Ghosting, an every day way to live

Rosa Mendonca Poem
"Wings"
I sway
Back and forth like a tree.
The wind carries me away,
But it pulls me back to reality.
I fall down
Like the leaves.
Landing on the hard ground,
Then get whisked up into the eaves.
I grow again
Just like a bud.
A new beginning, then
I end up next to yet another dud.
Give me wings like a bird.
I'll fly away without a single word.

Rosa Mendonca Poem
The butterfly, a symbol of rebirth.
The butterfly that I noticed fluttering around my back porch,
golden brown with black veins running through it, white dots along the edges of its wings.
The butterfly that couldn't find its way out,
The butterfly that I found two days later on the floor, lifeless.
The butterfly lays on my kitchen counter, still dead.
