Keep It Real

Keep it real when you talk to me,
speak with honest words and authority.

Be true to yourself each and every day,
don't get caught up in what others do or say.

You were created original and truly unique,
so when talking with others quit playing hide and seek.

You never seem to let your true feelings show,
so it's hard for me to decide whether you're friend or foe.

Trying to figure you out is truly a task,
because every time I talk to you--- you're wearing a mask.

So remove the mask that hides your inner soul,
dare to be different--dare to be bold!

Learn to see things as they really appear.
Speak the truth in love and without fear!

So the next time I see you express how you feel,
but above everything else remember to KEEP IT REAL!

There Is a God

When I gaze into the evening sky,
watching planes, insects, and birds go by,
I'm amazed at how they all can fly.....
I know there is a God!

For every hungry child that is fed,
for every bit of shelter put over our heads,
because for me---Jesus bled.....
I know there is a God!

When I behold God's glory each and every day,
when one who was lost finds his way,
when those who would not, begin to pray...
I know there is a God!

Whenever I'm alone and sometimes down,
I feel an awesome touch and hear a gentle sound,
I then know where help can be found.......
There is a God!

Broken To Pieces

Broken to pieces, I wept bitterly
for my Savior and my deliverer to set me free;

from the curses of His people spoken and set,
to cause much hurt and harm without any regret.

But I found comfort in knowing that I was not alone.
I wasn't the only person to whom curses were sown.

For there's someone who is much greater than I,
who did not have to, but chose to die;

To redeem you and I from the curses of sin,
and put our lives back together again.

Every time we take communion and break the bread of life,
I am reminded of how He too was broken and sacrificed.

So I now rejoice in being broken to pieces and delivered from despair;
For if I were never broken, then there would be none of me to share!
