Kaunda Salimu Poem
The son born before the last one
Father and mother so joyous
For they have another son
Black and strong, ebony yet porous
The darkness that lasts for a night
Lasting for a while, it has eclipsed
Blood oozes strength lost during the night
Morning comes, cold, confused he cried
The only word that comes out is the sister's name
Bitter pain, angry, furious, mad, infuriated, upset
is the son's family, the incident unexpectedly happens
Slowly but surely is the next scene, the consequence is clearly set
Eyes used to look at pleasant sights now for tear dropping, in tears i drowned
mother, brothers and sisters, nephews and nieces in uncontrollable mourning because the son is now Nowhere To Be Found....

Kaunda Salimu Poem
Self perspective? NO!! My perspective is based on Christ’s perspective
Call me a Christian because by His will He justified me from all my depravity
Yes at His Son’s expense I got saved, He implanted the seed of faith so now I believe
Self-perspective is now futile because He tells me to put the focus on Him instead of me….
So what I feel, want and desire is garbage compared to what The LORD has in stock for me
It’s awesome knowing the God of creation who saves men in His perfect will
And knowing that the devil only comes to destroy, steal and kill
Knowing that the author and giver of all life came so I can have life and not just have it but have it more abundantly…
So with this feeble brain and these feeble lips I will lift up my feeble hands and say The LORD is so HOLY, HOLY, HOLY
With reference to the middle verse of the scripture; Psalm 118:8; I will put confidence in The LORD, I will not rely on self or any other man
Having known that everything we have or see all belongs to Him, everything is a work of His perfect hand
So doing what my peers are doing or what I see on TV or what I hear on the radio is all foolishness
Because He says I shouldn’t conform to this world but rather be transformed by the renewing of the mind so I can live a life of Godliness….
My life through Christ’s eyes is amazing
Can you imagine a world without lights, imagine total darkness. Now can you imagine a world without Christ, Who is the way the Truth and the Life. The true Light
Knowing that He’s in me in the dark I’ll shine bright and the dark cannot comprehend it
I don’t know why but I know it is by Grace through repentance and believing that my sins are forgiven
So what am I ought to do with this life that I’ve been given, other than to say Holy Holy Holy is the Messiah who was raised, is to make sure the great commission is carried out even
So when you ask me what happened to the old me, I say he’s dead and buried away
And I suggest you take the Word of God seriously because your body, my body this earthly life is nothing but a phase it is passing away
I know it’s true because in my life I’ve seen change, those who believe in Christ are new creatures and He does not just end there
He wiped and cleansed and shifted my world view so I can refrain from sin and when I sin, I repent. Then I’m right with Him
Then He sees me through the Son not SELF-PERSPECTIVE….

Kaunda Salimu Poem
Once was a tree
Not just any ordinary tree.
Once was introduced to a
world
of no worries for
tomorrow.
Once was a special tree
so said
those who planted me.
Once grew without
knowledge of
my purpose on earth.
I guess it's nature.
To survive, from birth.
All I needed was nurture.
Once friends I had would
converse with I in the
woodlands.
Once we would bow due
to the
wind blows in the
woodlands.
Once I survived death
from wild
fires.
Once time came when
the OWNER
of the woodlands
ordered to cut
down the trees grown
enough to
be processed.
Once in my life said
GOODBYE to
my friends I thought I'll
have for
the rest of my life.
Once I felt the wrath of
death. But
on the bright side of it,
my life
purpose was revealed.
Once my life has new
meaning. To
provide tangible
substance to the
world is my purpose on
earth,
after processing.
Once again the OWNER
will
choose my future from
here.
Once Was A Tree....

Kaunda Salimu Poem
I am the word
wrongly
used....misused/ In a
layman's
terms I've been ill-
treated....abused/ A
professional
might say I've been
charged with
serious crimes such as
death....accused/ In
circumstances
where a word for morally
corrupt
desires would be placed,
I've been
placed
instead....confused/ In
situations and relations
where
I've been understood and
carefully managed or
used/ by
managers or users, I've
left them
smiling some even
laughing....amused/
Some say when they hear
my
name all they remember
is the
time I left hurt scratches
on
them....bruised/ Before
existence
of man I existed, but can
I say I've
been released from my
duty....excused/ I have
appeared
in blockbuster movies,
best selling
books and novels. I've
hosted and
featured in the most sold
songs.
Most religions emphasise
the
usage of me, but the
usage of me
has been
minimised....reduced/
Before I take a bow. I
appreciate
those who not only
understood
me but combined me
with fellow
good words....fused/
But yet still I might I've
been used
or misused. Abused or
accused.
Confused or amused.
Bruised or
excused. Reduced or
fused.
I am The Word Misused I
Am....
LOVE....

Kaunda Salimu Poem
Listening to an amazing
piece of jazz music like
this one/ lead me to
thinking like I'm the
one-'leader'/ just want to
touch the white clouds
but I can't find the
ladder/ The sun blazes
through the clouds/ as
the wind breezes
through the avocado
leaves/ the oxygenated
leaf air leaves/ my mind
refreshed/ But like
temptation are so/
destructing so/ is my
opposite neighbour's
smoke from burnt
garbage/ the odour is
indescribable/ but the
'eastern sun' jazz beat
from Sizzle/ makes it
possible/ for me to
continue thinking clean.
My conscience comes into
play and I remember
there is only One 'leader'.
Who was, is, and will be.
John 1:1. Thank you
LORD!

Kaunda Salimu Poem
I never thought
I'd be the one/ A
life full of timeless travels/
Never
thought I'd fall for
anyone/ Now I
feel I'm reaching higher
levels/
Got astounded by your
scarce
personality/ So different
from the
rest the aspect that
makes you so
pretty/ As beautiful as the
colour
of the sunset/ The truth
is-they'll
be amazed by your
mindset/ You
are so full of it, Life/ With
you,
definitely I can't strife/
Your style
your smile/ takes me to
different
places/ Surely I can't lie/
You beat
all faminine faces/ So
beautiful/
Pertaining you to be
powerful/
Your eyes so clear as the
air/
Sometimes when I'm
with you I
stutter/ even though I'm
a starter/
In the world of
relationships/ I'll
try to keep it real, most
definitely
with no gimmicks/ And
no tricks/
Keep that as a promise
coz I
promise.... I dedicate this
to my .....

Kaunda Salimu Poem
Probably the hurting
feeling felt
by plants/ in particular,
grass/ as
people trample, stumble,
step, cut
and kill/ Being touched,
felt,
kissed and cherished
'they' need
to feel/ like flowers are
cared for/
so do 'they' crave care
even more/
but no one seems to care
at all/
attached to atleast a wall/
people
exit that door/ 'they'
engage in
prior preparation for
pain/ fear of
change is another factor/
fear of
the unknown, as soon as
the door
opens, 'they' tremble/ for
fear of
been stumbled upon/ But
what
keeps 'them' going is the
fact that
'they' were created for a
purpose,
to beautify the earth and
to
provide that fresh oxygen
during
the day/ that's 'their'
way/....
So I sat and thought, " I
might feel
low, sick, poor, lonely,
unworthy
and not cared for. There's
still
hope for beautiful days to
come."
Flipped through the New
Testament and found 1
Peter
1:13. God bless....

Kaunda Salimu Poem
From The Heart I Came....
When this poem was in
its rawest form
Before the hand started
writing
The mind was bossing
and boasting
That I originated there
but I know
From the Heart I came....
Like blood running
through the veins
to give life to living blood
cells
I am an expression but
not like a math equation
I am most oftenly
directed at family and
friends and most
importantly God
Him Who is true Goodness
I am a recognition of the
value of kindness
Yes. Without that very
strong affection I can not
exist
I told the mind that when
I come from you I am not
real
If I come from the mind
then I'm as fake as the
word fake itself
I am rarely used. When I
am used,
I release the heavy feeling
of pride. Because;
I come from the Heart.....
GRATITUDE....

Kaunda Salimu Poem
Like Garden soil
needs water and
manure/ manure to
provide
nutrients/ Nutrients like
nutrients
needed by a baby birth
with HIV/
HIV spreading rapidly
with no
cure/ cure for my
thoughts I ask/
Ask for inspirational
words/
Words yet race through
my mind/
My mind knows NO rest,
even
when I'm sleeping/
sleeping still
random words keep
pushing
each other/ Other than
Nightmares I get Blissful/
Colourful/ and Peaceful/
dreams
as a result of past
thoughts/
Thoughts vary, Guilt,
Pride, Peace,
Love, Lust, e.t.c/ See you
eat-
resultant of hunger/
Hunger for
clean thoughts I crave
for/ Crave
for that which has never
been/
That which no man has
ever
seen/ That which will
always be/
TOMORROW/ Tomorrow I
might
just write a poem better
than
this/ This all is occurring
because
of His Love/ His Love we
all have/
Have relationships but
still feel we
lack/ Luck you say?/ Say
Saved by
Grace/ Grace in His, I
reside/ I
abide by His LAW/ Low I
feel, but
to attain clean thought I
need My
Food/
My Food For Thought?/
Thought
of the WORD from our
LORD/
LORD's Holy Bible/ Bible -
My Food
For Thought....
