Hope

A fear from deep within me rises up, filling my mind. Like white-hot steel piercing my heart, strangling my thoughts and choking out a dying hope that tries ever so valiantly to live within me. But still, that hope does live. Ever so faint, ever so small. Fighting desperately for a spot in my heart. Looking around me, all seems grim. But still that hope persists. Hanging on, holding tight, fighting for that little spark of life and bracing for a fight with fear. Never again will I look upon hope as a frivolous thing for frivolous people. Hope is and will always be the destroyer of fear. Hope is what every man's heart should desire. Hope...Is all I have.

Heaven's Eyes

The night time sky sparkles with a million points of light. Dazzling and brilliant; mesmerizing. Looking deeply into the night, one can only feel amazed at what is seen. For me, there is an added feeling of familiarity, a déjà vu that is strongly similar. What is it that could possibly compare to the stars? A realization begins. An understanding that is slow to take hold of at first, but one that is profoundly true nonetheless. What could possibly compare to the dazzling stars? As the familiar images begin to overlap and take shape in my mind, the sure knowledge of sameness floods in. I know what compares to the stars. I've always known. It's the dazzling points of light in your jade green eyes. They're the reason why I live. Your eyes are why I fell in love with you, and why I can't help but compare you to the heavens.

Answers

Why am I what I am? Often I have wondered this, Life has a way of making you look at yourself and ask the questions you may not want the answers to. More often than not by the time the questions are asked... it's too late. The answers are always exactly what you knew they would be, they were there all along. The problem is that you don't want to know the answers because then you have to change who you are to deal with the things you don't want to deal with. So by ignoring them you may fool one's self into a false sense of well-being, while all along you are rotting inside. Now that I have asked the questions, I have begun to realize that if I would have dealt with them a long time ago the people around me wouldn't have had to pay the price for my selfish arrogance. I still have a long way to go, but now that I have begun to ask the questions, the answers don't hurt as bad as I thought they would. In the end, Deep inside, the answers to the questions are the very thing that will heal and save your life, and the people around you. In the end you have always known that the people you love are the answer to the questions. They are the ones that will save you. They are the healing answers.

The Decision

I am sure that people are chasing something, a fleeting thing that at times seems to have wings and fly away every time we get close to it. It is a powerful thing, It is a shy and frightened thing. It is a beautiful and comely thing. We must have it, We crave it, We desire it. And yet for all of our endeavors, For all our attempts to obtain it, Very few of us ever have the pleasure of calling it our own. Still, it is the one thing in this world that every human being, No matter what we are or where we come from, Must try to have. It is universal, It is LOVE. We must understand, That love is not a warm, fuzzy feeling that comes over us, Nor is it a magical or spiritual connection between two people. Love is a decision. A decision that we make within ourselves. In order for us to have love in our lives, We must all make that decision. The problem is that many of us are indecisive about everything in our lives, And that can be a death blow for love. The one thing that everyone needs and desires is a beautiful and fragile thing that can become rock solid and steadfast. All it needs to be yours is one thing... That is a decision to give and accept love.
