Memory of Strangers

Innocence smiled in the mirror
But you turned away
Your words laced in cold tears
Linger behind perfumed walls
Ghost-like faces stuck between the sheets
You take the money
Than hide in your pain
A memory of strangers
Whiskey breath
A whisper
Loving you without loving
Carelessly bruised
You weather in loneliness
Than give yourself away
For the day
For the night
For the rest of your life

Take Me Under

Will you visit my lips with your mouth
I want to try it your way
Will you whisper that you want me
This different side of my innocence
Has long awaited for you to take me under
Pull me closer to your side
Look me in the eyes
Dreamy, mysterious and nameless
Make it known that I'm who you want
The secret side of the night
I want to be lost in you
Lost in your tempting dreams
Not a thing of innocence
I want to feel alive
I want to be somebody else
Somebody you can love...

The Willow

Your love was as timeless and beautiful as the old willow
Where the cherry blossoms fell beneath the wind
Your love was melancholy and graceful
Knowing my inner pain offered in return
Your love grew with time
In the midst of our ages, you knew nothing else
Unguarded
You loved me til the day I left
I was too young to know my love for you
Too young to know that my sorrow would pass
You, my friend
Taught me that life is not about knowing
But about being open
Letting it fall gracefully upon you
Like that of the rose you picked for me
As we laid in the garden
So still, So breathless
I'm so sorry for leaving
I hope you always know, I did love you. Always.

To Love and To Lose

Its as though the sun as fallen short
Though his eyes look over at me, with distance
Eyes, tender and sorry
Like a sunset falling or a dream forgotton
What is this silence in his face?
A smile reaching in and out
Gazing at love's regret
Has it become real?
Or am I dizzy from the sun
Beaming waves far inside my heart
He's coming and leaving
Disappearing into my memory
I'm losing him
Again
To see him see me
Than to look away

I've lost him...

For I Am You

You're the lonely face I see in the moon
The division in my voice

You're the flower crushing petals
The desolation in my love

You're the angel without heaven
The damage in my eyes

You're the voice I hear
Falling asleep

The storm in my heart
The rain collapsing in my mind

You're my emptiness
You're my melancholy

And I belong to you
And you belong to me...

Lover Beneath the Tree

He saw her beauty lain beneath the blossom tree
He followed slowly with the breeze
As if to find the words
She looked upon his weathered face
Fingers laced around his cheek
He kissed those lips as if to say goodbye
Then spoke what stopped her movement
"My love is on thee outs
When tomorrow comes I'll no longer love you
I cannot endure your pain
Your heart wrenching pain
We have grown indifferent
And my heart belongs to someone else
Forgive me, my love, forgive me."
His hand dropped down
Letting her go
And with that he walked away
Her once love disappearing into the horizon
Her beauty lain back against the tree
Blossom petals fell upon her eyes like raindrops
Caressing tears...
To love. She thought. Is to love all of someone
To not give up
To not give up
Her eyes now drenched in tears
Lain in despair with the cease of the sun...
