The Willow

Your love was as timeless and beautiful as the old willow Where the cherry blossoms fell beneath the wind Your love was melancholy and graceful Knowing my inner pain offered in return Your love grew with time In the midst of our ages, you knew nothing else Unguarded You loved me til the day I left I was too young to know my love for you Too young to know that my sorrow would pass You, my friend Taught me that life is not about knowing But about being open Letting it fall gracefully upon you Like that of the rose you picked for me As we laid in the garden So still, So breathless I'm so sorry for leaving I hope you always know, I did love you. Always.
