For I Am Blind

For I am blind…

I touch your face
For I am blind – I cannot see you.

Your skin is firm and shaven…and rough – yet smooth and masculine…
I touch you and I feel how a touch can go so much deeper than the skin, ‘for where I touch – I’m being touched too –
‘feeling you – feeling more – much more,
‘feeling all of you,

For I am blind and therefore can see all there is to see with the tips of my sensitive fingers.
My senses are awake, and so I sense is yours.
Your heartbeat and your irregular breathing are confirming that we have crossed the lines of light and darkness,
‘there’s now no light, no darkness, just your breathing, your smell,
‘no white or black, just you and me,
- You are now more familiar to me, than I am to myself –
‘and so am I to you.
For our souls had awaken, ‘cause we have touched,
Beyond the skin, beyond our flesh – for our souls have met and became one,
Entwined, together in a sense that no words or humanity can ever truly explain.
We can no longer be blind – for our eyes had seen so much deeper, so much more…
