Her Essence Is In Her Walk

Her essence is in her walk, in the strong sure stride of her steps
in the stitch in her side caused by the birth of her child.
She moves through the world with all the sureness of a monarch,
but not with self importance or vanity, no she is simply comfortable.

Life is hard you can see it in her eyes, they are cloudy
and yellowing.
Just as they are piercing and beautiful, she moves on, her essence
is in her walk.
It’s a flag from a country you have never visited, all
her own, you can only learn what she tells you and listen carefully when she speaks.

She bleeds for you, but she does not grow weak she has blood
like salve. Her heart is your savior , her love was your life
her essence is in her walk.

A Song For Your Ears Alone

If I could write a ballad no one else but you would hear it.
If I were god I would tap into your special frequency so that other prying ears
would not be able to judge.
If only you could understand my lyrics if only could catch the rhythm,
I have long grown tired of trying to make you understand, of trying to make
you hear my melody.

If I could sing loud enough to make you understand, I would stand on the
highest peak of the world and shout to you my truth.
My truth that I could never hate you, but you couldn't see that. You once
told me that you were god and I believed you.

But you lied because if you were god you would know
that at one point you scared me.
If you were god than you'd know that it hurt when you forgot me,
you would have used your divine intelligence to speak to my heart
when you couldn't see me.

If you were god you would have sent me a burning bush a long time ago when I needed
you. But now I see the truth finally at the brink of adulthood, fathers can't be god.
fathers can be loved, hated and sourly missed all at once.
Now I see that the one I coveted for so long as divine, is a mere flawed human being.

If I could write a song for your ears alone it would speak the truth without judgment or
blame.

I Spoke To the Moon

I walked on the tops of clouds, I defied gravity
and laughed at the idiocy of such a law that held the rest of you down.

I spoke to the moon, and she told me secrets
in a foreign tongue.
In a dead tongue.
In a ancient tongue.

I flew on the wings of a sparrow.
We migrated to a warmer climate,a tropical climate.
and there ...

I found love

Untitled

I love the way you lay hands on me.
Soft, gentle, careful kind but not like
I'm breakable no, more like I'm valuable.
I feel something like a precious stone in
your soft jewelers palms.

I cherish the heat that rises from
your body
That 98.6 degrees of you, the sound
of your heart is my homing signal.
That steady strong thrumming keeps more than you alive.

I love you like a shape shifter,
Id transform for you.
I'd become anything so you could carry me with you always.

Untitled

There is a sweet stillness to his features, a deeper rest than ever
before.
Cold and solid, vacant and yet why is his last immortal expression a
smile.
That haunting dead man’s grin, haunting maybe If you wish it to be that way
Taunting is a better word.

It is true that dead men tale no tales, no they simply hold secrets
yes they hold secrets blissfully.
Beyond the tempest in which we have not yet escaped is a peaceful
place.
At first redemption has a sour taste, but only if you’re too far gone
to recognized you’ve been forgiven.
The dead man’s grin is wise.

Make peace with your god whoever he may be,
dead man’s lip tell no tales share no secrets
because he knows everyone is listening.
