Shante Wells Poem
One night I laid on my floor
and prayed to God
that he would send me an Angel.
One day the phone rung
and his
said to meet him
and there she stood
5’1 caramel complexion,
almond shaped brown eyes,
golden locks licked with chocolate
raspberry stained lips.
she had a storybook for eyes
endless epics, sonnets, poems and stories
all knotted up in her soul
overflowing through her eyes.
Her voiced was honey dipped,
and golden like a mockingbird.
Her beauty was astonishing
she was as classic,
a girl from the 1950’s,
her look was vintage
her style was familiar.
As I gained my composure
I looked up at heaven
and cried out
because far so many wrongs
have came into my life
but finally a right has found me
Thank you!!

Shante Wells Poem
Quietly stalking
secretly peeking
wondering who,
what or how come,
and why?
seeking the truth
declaring meaning
you watch me from afar,
never entering my mind
wondering why or how come
but not really asking me.
you suggest I did it because of you
yet nothing revolves around you
but the gusty winds.
you sit at home crying
slowly killing yourself
because I said “I, too, have a life.”
now miles apart
and hearts torn
love does not make it right?

Shante Wells Poem
because dew only last a few hours
and the rainbow only appears
when the rain kisses the sun
and seals the sky.
only because the wind blows;
because each path is different.
only because life is too short
and the earth is too round,
because my breathe comes when you leave and
when you are around i am breathless
because my tears burns my face
when we are not together.
because my back aches
because i labor all your pain.
because my love is not enough
i give you me
i give you life.
