Fallen Angel

As she falls she thinks
She thinks of what she did to make this happen
She was not perfect in his eyes
She is no longer pure
He expected her to be good
She was supposed to guide those on the wrong path
And guard those innocent few
She was to be a role model
But she has fallen now
She can no longer be that
She is not innocent anymore
She has been treated like a disobedient child
He has disowned her like a pregnant daughter
He refuses to forgive her
She was supposed to be perfect
She was supposed to remain untouched for eternity
The one everyone wanted but couldn’t have
But that didn’t happen 
And she has been tossed aside 
Tossed aside like ugly clothes
She let someone touch her
And for that she can never return
She thinks he has overreacted
She doesn’t see what she did as wrong
She believes it was destined to happen
But he sees it has the worst possible thing she could do
He disowned her for one mistake
But she hopes he will let her come back
Maybe one day he will welcome her home
But for now he won’t
She imagines her new life
She thinks falling will be the hardest thing
Maybe one day she will rise again
Being a fallen angel was never her goal 
But that is what she is
And until he forgives her
That is what she will remain

See the heart
torn from my chest
held before you
it is a gift
bloody and bruised
given to you
it swells and pumps
sings softly of love
see this heart 
it has ceased to be mine
it is not lost
but a gift
one freely given
full of hopes
bathed in dreams
can you see the beauty
the joy of giving in love

A Second

a second
that's all it takes
a single second
and it can all change
love turns to resentment
you could lose them
you will have to fight for them
work for their love
you can't just let them slip away
someday they'll snap
loving you won't be enough
not if you don't give love
they just want to feel noticed
they're not too complex
a simple need that you can easily fulfill
but it takes a little time
can you give the time
or shall you wait for the second

I Just

A lifeless body
A hollow shell of what once was
She once spoke with passion
Laughed at a simple joke
She loved fiercely
An unconditional love
She was so happy
Shone brightly from the inside out
But then it all changed
She spoke scarcely
They saw sadness in her eyes
Eyes that shimmered with unshed tears
What had happened to this girl
Why had she lost her shine
Now she lays motionless on the ground
The blood pools under her
She's curled up
As if to ward off cold
Written on the wall are bright red letters
"I just wanted some one to care"

Beautiful smiles
Laughter while we talk

My morning thought
My late night wonder
The cute little faces
Silly little words
She's my heart across the states
My wish for Christmas
Each day I wish to hold her

Morning I wake wishing she was by my side

Days

forever you will hold my heart
as you lay beneath the ground
yesterday was full of laughter
promises spoken into night
loving words and hearts brimming
late one day you stole my heart
now forever there you'll live
my love still freely given
many have cried and now it's my turn
you stole a piece no one could touch
my heart was yours, my love was true
now I laugh at the dreams and memories
tomorrow i will have to wake
I'll cry and say a word to you
but tonight I'll have these words
and in my dreams we'll meet
we'll talk and laugh
maybe someday we'll say goodbye

Can You See

I am lost
Broken inside
Filled with anxieties
And forgotten dreams
If you look at me
Truly look
What do you see
Do you see the scars
Faint letters on the inside of my arm
From the first time I harmed
An odd indent on my knee
From falling off stairs onto a single rock
Do you see the silent words
Trapped between my ears
Waiting for the perfect moment
But missing it each time
Can you see past the smiles
See the self doubt beneath
The hope for a bright tomorrow

Lover

her lips pressed to mine
her breath caressing my skin
a touch from her sweet hands 
I am lost in this joy
this love is greater than any I have felt before
she causes a smile 
the catching of my breath
our hands hold fast in the crowd
the people the turn and look
watch as two beautiful women pass
our love is pure
it is innocent of any anger
how can they hate
say that love is wrong
she is mine 
I am hers
we don't hate them for their love
