Brittney Coon Poem
Mouth full of lies
Face frozen, unreadable
Eyes black, hot coals
Outside sweet, inside pure evil
“I love you,” you whisper
Hands all over
Until morning you own me
Bound to a tawdry bed
Out of all your lies,
“I love you” was my favorite
You were so coy
Slick like a fox
Folding me into your box
Twisting and turning
Finding my breaking point
Pushing me over the edge
Fists fly, fighting back
Sick of your head games
You’re just a well-dressed fool
You only think of yourself
Rubbing salt into my wounds
Calling me back, hands so gentle
Stop trying to get me back into your web
I’m already gone, this fly got away

Brittney Coon Poem
Arms around your neck
Pulling you into me
Inhaling your scent
Say you love me
Grabbing my waist
Squeezing away everything
Melting into you
Say you need me
Breathe shallows
Chest lays still
Turning to cold stone
Say you miss me
Shadows in glimmering light
Seeing you in every face I pass
Feeling a breeze, your fingertips
Say you haunt me

Brittney Coon Poem
Love is like a dragon
Rare to find, enchanting
Dangerous yet beautiful
Both are tales of fiction
Life is like an hourglass
So fragile, precious
Never stopping, not for anything
Sand slips between fingers
Pain is like a storm
Can hit without warning
Wave of sorrow, of tears
Always lingering around the corner
Death is like the moon
Always there, at times unseen
Keeps all of your sinful secrets
A true friend indeed
