Alupogun-Iran Adeolu Poem
It wasn’t easy turning away from you
Sure like the sun rise
Is your love
Upon my bed I groaned
Sacred vow I made
A budding pal we appeared
Until nature's verdict played
Like Haiti earthquake
My guards shattered
A glowing dream muffled
Upon my bed I groaned
Sacred vow I made
A wave of pain I bore
Sighting you in anguish
Another traumatic jilt
Repose far from my being
Your sonorous voice I heard
Why did you leave?
*TEMINIKAN* is a pet name between lovers meaning MINE ALONE in Yoruba language

Alupogun-Iran Adeolu Poem
At the dusk of the day,
When all souls sojourn the dream land
The 'hood deserted
And the path grimy
While the arctic nurtures my skin
I care not for myself
Deferring all thought
I walk the soggy valley to pluck a rose
Just for u!
Returning; the leaves
Clap in victory
The moon glows in sheer pride
So the trees dance gallantly
All to hail a hero;
More so; all for you
I thirst for this tick
Patiently relishing it
Living the beacon’s light
Just at its crescendo
It comes a stillbirth
Why haven’t I known?
It isn’t for you

CAUTION
Excuse me.......
Say to our Hausa fellow
Tread with caution
Niger is but the nest of sundry
The deeds our patriots
Drag not to the mud

Alupogun-Iran Adeolu Poem
We are not crushed
Like a phoenix we rise
Matching with all resonance
Unto this cause we lay breathe
Until we swim in champaign
The odds: our strength
The truth: our source
Though, the trench our haven
In edifice you abode
But we live ahead of time
Right in the palace of posterity
Now we sail in galloping sea
Then shall there be asphalt
For our beasts
Even if we sleep
Our seeds will engender
Soaring like an eagle
So will the cause be rudder
Then shall our learning be rapid
So we shall beam even at sleep

Alupogun-Iran Adeolu Poem
IN-DWELLING PEACE
I went up and down in quest of peace
Indeed! I found one: an illusion
I proceeded in my hurt for peace
Obviously my bullet hit one
A wealth of joy filled my being
But was a wolf in sheep clothing
Down cast for shooting a wrong target
Enraged, furious, frustrated!
Aware of my illusion, I press further
With empire of enthusiasm I move
More conscious of what comes
But non resemble PEACE
I advanced the search
Patience and courage were wearing
Perturbed the propeller broken
I realized it dwell not on earth
Weary becomes my patience and courage
The gut to advance faded
Now camped and fed by perturbation
Agitation became the air I breathe
It dawn on me that PEACE, has no abode
Hold and embraced by illusion
I stumbled across an ancient treasure
Flipping the pages, was arrested
Behold, what I have been looking for
Reside in this scroll, PEACE
No wonder, no wonder
They call it the word of PEACE

THOU RAIN
Oh rain why art thou falleth
Isn’t it to stain the earth?
Yes! To accord a soothing comfort
Oh rain why art thou falleth
Aren’t you on a mission?
Hmm... To rescue the earth
To vomit her eternal burden

Alupogun-Iran Adeolu Poem
FIVE DECADES
It is yet dawn here!
Though the sun smiles glowingly
The souls set to toil
Like hypnotized spirit in deep laughter
It is yet dawn here!
The cloud had fermented
The earth arrogantly molested
Culminating a forced abortion
It is yet dawn here!
The journey had long began
The barns are of suckling
Counsels have been trodden
Five decades of fumbling and stumbling
When will it be dawn here?

Alupogun-Iran Adeolu Poem
So engulfed by perturbation
The inner cry was enormous
My heart cracked and sank
Why has she been so unfair?
The courage thinned down
The renowned citadel
Not did I ever apply
The enrolment was unquestionable
A vast place yet crowded
Why has she been so unfair?
The knack to learn unfolded
A citadel without classroom
Yet you tutor by seconds
Oh! You duly engage all
Why has she been so unfair?

GREY HAIR
It use to
be
the masses
last resort
when the grey hair
was wholesome wisdom
and law
no respecter
of being
but no more
A strand
of grey hair
now gold carat
so justice
is thrown
into the
embrace of mint

Alupogun-Iran Adeolu Poem
THOU IROKO
The famous king of the forest
The mother figure of the green groove
As the lion lords over
All other animals in the forest
So Iroko towers with undeniably,
Caring and encompassing hands
Of its dominion over tree
Oh! King of the forest
Hold forth your comforting hands
To thy teeming millions of the
Under- growths which hitherto had
Been mercilessly beaten by the sun
Hail Iroko! Shout!!
Thou old, young, men, and women
Shout and praise
The king and master of the
Forest to rise for a dance for the
Rhythm and drum beats
Sound so tenacious
Dance, dance, dance
Oh great king of the forest
