Katie Lucas Poem
She sits in a stony ruin,
Unable to leave.
Thinking is just a burden now.
Is he all there is?
The sun burns brilliant,
But the stones are cold.
She wants to shiver,
But she can only shudder.
Nothing grows in these remains.
Not truth.
Not beauty.
Not hope.
Certainly not love.
Only ashy stones,
Scarred by time
And blackened by fire.
She shudders again.
The sunshine is audible,
But all she feels is cold.
Is he all there is?
She sits in a stony ruin,
Unable to leave.
And he will be all there is
Until the rocks cry out.
