Pride and Prejudice

Huddled inside his feathery frame, basking in his mellowing warmth, behind the horizon the sun rose and dawn came, and the dove awoke with fright and alarm. She had to fly for none must know, that her heart's with the raven. And she flew leaving her heart behind, only to wear a mask among her own kind. She played along as they tweeted with voices loud, their diction coated with malice and disdain.. She could do nothing but to their every word bow, while her tender heart bled and pained. Tangled in their rusted chain, she waited till the first star spawned. Bidding goodbye with a smile that she feigned, she wound the clock to the time before morn. As the sun crept to the other side, the dove lost herself in his love so wide. With their body and soul now entwined, they made love, when everything was so beautiful and fine.

Dad the Redeemer

It sounded like an intimate pamper,
which none could decipher at first..
He adored me all day without the slightest hint of slumber,
merrily relinquishing to my thirst..
The thirst to know what life has in store,
to understand the world to its deepest core..

The world was really massive indeed,
but to him I was the world..
Shielding me gallantly from the perverted stampede,
sans an armour but with his heart of gold..

Eccentric i may have ever been,
In his heart he had the most room for me..
His dark complexion others might have seen,
but i knew the inside was impeccable for as far as i could see..

From imploding black holes to baking bun,
you enlightened me about everything under the sun..
Reprieving me of the mistakes that engulf,
while i was still discovering myself..

Every time i let you down,
surfing the aggressive tides of rebellion..
I knew i didn't deserve the crown,
with me so malevolent as a vicious stallion..

I owe you something beyond words,
that even infinite love can't make it square..
Dad I'll always love you in fathomless depth,
and make you proud till my last breath..

When Darkness Brightened My Mind

It hit on me one sable, chilly night, Of masquerade is life made? Out of the blue I realized I had to fight, in order not to miserably fade.. But then again I gave a second thought.. Ought I to achieve stardom? I'd rather not.. Cause I knew how the world worked, with all the prejudices and hypocritic jerks.. Sometimes I wish I could do my best, to carve a smile on people's face.. And then I end up like all the rest, failing to save their souls from today's pace.. It's just funny how people would rather fret over the scratches on their cars, than the countless lives lost in wars.. figures they're too conceited to even bother.. Isn't it a crying shame, when everyone yearns for fleeting fame? If only they realized the fact, that there's more to life than titles and tags.. And there came a point where i could speak no more, for sometimes I've lost and sometimes I've won.. There were things to learn and peaks to soar, and i figured i had a long way to go.. Under the starry sky i then slept, long after wondering what the future might have kept..

Death and Beyond

Hours transpired like every other day. Perched on the trees, sparrows chirped, keeping the dreadful silence at bay, and sunlight across the land, whipped. Laid there on the grassy lawn, was a lovely lass dressed in a corset. Smelling the blossoms like a fawn, enchanted was she by nature's best. Up the hill ran a hysterical lad, his face as white as a sheet, shattered her heart to more than just a shard, and made her swoon to her feet. Minutes rolled to hours, and hours to days, and there she sat like a stone. With her eyes so lifeless and cold, her once rosy lips now as dry as a bone. Draining her blood was her soul, turning her visage as of a ghoul. Neither did she eat, nor drink, as she stooped over life's brink. Deep down was an endless bottom, which her rotting psyche couldn't fathom. The day came when her eyes lit up, like a hopeless spark in a dark cavern. She let go and set her eyes on the stars afar, and said "I'll be there wherever you are".

Too Late For Love

Huddled up at the edge of my seat,
the first day started with me so forlorn..
Glancing around so lost and beat,
desperately wishing for a miracle to be born..

Something allured the corner of my eyes,
and there she was, my first crush..
I who believed first sight love were all lies,
was transfixed at the spot all blushed and red..

Minutes snowballed incessantly to hours,
as i spent the day instilled by this new found power..
Bright and beautiful was she with her lovely scent,
which i swear would make Venus pout and pant..

The year went by like a fast moving stream,
neither did i harden up nor did i squeam..
What really mattered was that i got wiser
with time and reconsidered my fervours..

The day arrived which i dreaded the most,
which was supposed to warm up the frost,
and reconcile envious souls lost..
She was just not someone in my life,
it dawned upon me all too late..
Still i strained myself to say goodbye,
realizing how she evaded my days from ill fate..

And there i was faking a smile,
despite our split screen sadness..
which i learnt days after awhile,
that she had underwent the same harness..
Of my heart over hers and hers over mine..

Lost and Forlorn

Stranded in the middle of nowhere, flaunt myself i didn't dare.. Lost in the world of mine.. For me no one had their time.. Alone in the dark was i trapped, walls of frustration closing in on me.. An aura of darkness eclipsing my path, like an angry swarm of bumble bees.. Waiting for the final breath, something told me not to quit.. Hope had sneaked in with all its stealth, penetrating the blanket of black spit.. It came upon me that if I will, I will.. The reinforcement on my side, ceased the agitated waters within.. To darkness and death i didn't abide, but took wings and smashed through the ceiling.. Rising like a phoenix out of the ashes, looking down upon all that i went through.. With my despair left behind like faeces, realizing life may at times be blue.. Downthrusted by the cold air, and the inevitable pull of gravity.. There was not a thought to spare, or give a damn about the world's vanity.. It occurred to me as time went by, who are they to hurt my pride?! With none to convince other than my conscience, I'll make the most of myself all my life..
