Poem For My Neice

such innocent beauty is yours
my tender, fragile soul
the light in your eyes
reflecting the true loveliness
deep within that does arise
your smile my dear
captivates the heart
as you lie in my arms so near
a true work of art ?

High School - It Sucks :P

Walking through the crowded halls
Posters stuck up on the walls
Talking to friends till we're almost late
Trying to remember that project due date
Cheering loudly at every football game
Trying to not get caught breaking rules we think are lame
Worrying about how to dress
Trying to deal with all the stress
Juggling jobs on the side
Squeezing through halls that aren't that wide
Studying last minute for a test
Being told to do our best
Participating in a club
Taking advantage of the sub
Not to mention all the fights
And feeling like we have less rights
Being ruled by every bell
Sometimes to us school seems like hell
Wishing we could text in class
Being told we need a hall pass
Playing in the marching band
Eating lunches we think are bland
Dressing crazy on spirit week
Being told in class not to speak
And after all the graduation fuss
Our High School memories will always haunt us..

A Few Haikus

walking mountaintops
where the clouds kiss the damp earth
and it is quiet

Long do I lay here
Amid terrors of the night
Yearning to see you

to sacrifice all
and gain nothing in reply
is it all worth while?

an angel of night
unseen beauty robed in white
a shadow in the bright

a sword's edge is sharp
as is most deceitful word
both of them cut you

evil in your eyes
destruction is your friend
darkness in your wake

brazen harmony
spun with delicate silver thread
woven images

The Lonely Village

Every dawn meant its worth
every day showed its value
when the moon shone bright
bells tinkled by the motion of the whispery wind
children head to the safety of adobe huts
warming their little hands around the fires
tigers prowl the midnight roads
their eyes seen by fearfull villagers
luminescent eyes dancing in the dark night
calls of strange animals
sends a cold chill down your spine
babies fall asleep on the cold dirt floor
surrounded by parents, brothers, sisters
for protection
as the night comes to an end
and the sun starts to rise over the green topped mountains
wild animals leave to nap in the morning sun
children go out to relieve themselves
and find a dead goat five feet from the door
their livelihood shrinks as lionesses feed
on their wealth, their income
but such is the life
when you live with wild animals
when you encroach on their territory
you pay, little by little
a hard, struggling existence
a life shared with beautiful killers
seeing their glorious power at work
until they take your life.

Dream With Me

foggy skies
a gentle rain falls down from heaven
birds sing a lullaby and animals sleep in their dens
it is a balmy day in paradise
through the green-filled woods
and past the murky swamp
around the tall oak tree
and into the cool pool of water
mysteries lie beneath it's gently churning waves
things grow and live in underwater caves
a community it hosts
an internet of animals
along the salty coasts
join me on a stroll through my glorious isle
where jackals dance and sloths loll
walk with me through the forbidden shadows
sit with me under the canopy of tall trees
enjoy the beauty of this mysterious place
before you have to leave
already the sun calls you
you slowly open your eyes
and leave your paradise
instantly forgotten
as you look out at the morning skies

Dream

Rain and passion meet
Where the waters break against the shore
An outbreak of memories greets the oncoming tide
And the souls that haunt the waters take me for a ride
They take me to the black depths where I can hide
From the laws I was naively compelled to abide
Wishing I had the power to settle the score
Against the spiteful people I now abhor
The pain that radiates from their very bones
Clashes with the anger they seem to enthrone
They can never feel the love that they constantly deplete
I was battered and broken and had to retreat
I could no longer face the lies and deceit
Retreating to the roaring sea
Where I could be completely free

Predator

From the darkness he comes
His skin is darkened and his eyes tinged red
He is feral, a predator
Ageless and powerful
Staring at you in a trance
Vulture-like hunger in his filmy eyes
The thrumming of your blood
Vibrating through his body
He lunges at you with a soft moan
Grabs you in an inhumanly powerful grip
You feel a sharp pain at your neck
His eyes close, rejoicing as he draws the life out of you
The room fades and you know you're dying
He releases you and you fall limply to the floor
You feel the infection creeping through your empty veins
Slowly taking over your body, your soul
He slowly walks away
Gorged on your lifeblood
Abandoning you to die alone
He is not of this world
Out of the darkness he comes
To spread the parasite, the infection
To end all humanity

Alone, the First Poem I Wrote

small wet alone
whimpering in the night
and all around
the noises give you a fright.
taken to the pound
strange dogs
they lunge pounce bite
the end is near
nothing's right.

your breath gets shorter
you don't want to be here
you shouldn't be.
down down down
there's no life left in your being
it's all washed out.
you have no chance
you're sinking below the earth
you take one last glance
at all the things that hurt you
the woman that hit
the man that smacked
the cat that scratched
the dogs that bite.

the girl
where is she
she was one who loved
who let you rest your head on her knee
but she left just as you are leaving
and her soon you will see.

you leave the world
and sink into the depths
it gets hotter
you don't dare go back
there is nothing for you there.

you sink deeper
it is all you can bear
but you go on
down to hell
you will see her there.

you reach the gates
and take one last breath
before plunging into your fate
that is so stressed.
there she is with her auburn hair
its on fire and then it isn't there
she slowly fades into the background
and you are left alone.

Blindness

unending darkness
always there
a place to hide
to be safe,
but a weakness
to not understand
when you hear about the stars
what they look like,
they say open your eyes and see
luminescent orbs resting in the velvety black sky,
but you cannot
you will always be
in a midnight sanctuary
a world all your own
loved and hated
trusted yet feared
your past and your future
your hopes and dreams,
everything looks different in your imaginative mind,
everyone tries to explain what things look like
they act like you grieve your
present, past, future condition,
but you don't
you derive comfort from it,
your dark paradise...

I Wanted To Care

I saw your pain
Watched you standing in the rain
I wanted to care
But didn't dare
I saw your tears
An eclipse of your overwhelming fears
Saw you breaking apart
I wanted to care
But didn't dare
I saw you shattered
Saw you trying to move past the ruins inside
Watched you try to shut out the world and hide
And I wanted to care
But i didn't dare.
