Never Gone

Do not cry when I am gone
For I shall not have gone at all
For if you look close enough
I will still be here
I shall be the shadows on the wall
The warm from a fire
The sunshine on a spring day
The wind through your hair
The very air that you breath
And in your dreams
The happy memories we both shared

Little Blue Friend

You come home on a trailer long ago
As a present from my auntie
If I had only known
How much you would change me

We had you all setup
In all your blue glory
Keyboard, monitor and box
Staring at us with your prompt

I spent many hours
Learning your mysteries
Swapping disks around
Playing many great games

Then it came to an end
When you and I moved on
I went onto bigger and better things
You sent to another to learn your ways

Through you stopped working long ago
You, the little blue box
Taught me so much
Set me on a path
I have stayed on for so long
I remember you still
My little blue friend

Into the Darkness

I watch as the light disappears from you
You turn to shadow before my eyes
And as you disappear into the darkness
I know as you fade away
That I can't follow where you go

Follies of Immortality

Would I want to live forever
Watch the mountains turn to desert
Deserts turn into forest
Watch the fall and rise of civilizations
The order turn into chaos

Would I feel the heartbeat of the earth
The breathing of the world,
 inwards and outwards
As a mortal would his own

Would I watch the stars shine and fade
Does the galaxy live like the earth
Having a breath and heart beat of its own
Could I encompass it all
Or would I slip into madness

Would I turn into a god
Worshipped by all
Envied of all
My wisdom spreading the ages
Or would I simply become something beyond

Unable to relate to their ideas
Speak and not be understood
Hear and hear only scorn

I think I enjoy the shortness of life
Let each moment count
Enjoy each as it comes
And think that these are the
Follies of immortality
