One Tenth of a Father

I am a patient son
Yet I abhor waiting for the version of you that I love
Every time you touch a bottle,
You violently divorce me as your son
Each time you become a different man, one I cannot love
Oh father, I detest all your shades but one.
Abandon your poison,
Or very soon I will love none
Be the man you hope I'll become.

I Chase Infiniti

A lass with a name like no other
She draws water from the pits of Lazarus,
For her skin is so fair
Her ever changing colourful eyes have entrapped me,
Not that I'd want to escape
I'd wilfully lock myself in her dungeons and throw away the key
A girl I'd Chase through Infinite lifetimes and timelines
I'd happily give Chase after you, but I hope you don't run away
Chase Infiniti, I'm yet to see a girl more fair

EVOLVE

Once again I look at the man in the mirror with disgust
Do you even wanna change?,
That's what the voices in my head always ask
If I wanted to stay the same i wouldn't have fallen in love
I used to look at the moon and the earth and think that could be us
Revolving around one another for a millennia to come
But before that I must work on the person inside
To evolve into the person you will love and trust
This is my goal, I pray that it comes fast

MONOCHROME NIGHTS

My heart aches when I look up at the night sky.
I miss my goddess, but she just won't reply.
She knew how I felt inside;
She knew that without her attention, I’d die.
So she took care of me, encouraged me to change
Ready to love the man I’d become.

I failed her.
I could not change, at least not quickly enough for her patience.
Sometimes I wonder if her patience was too timid, too little.
Most times, I blame myself — what if my heart was too brittle,
And her loving, smothering hands unintentionally shattered it to pieces?
What if she cut her long, pale fingers
Trying to piece the shards back together like a jigsaw?

On many a night, the “ifs” torture my mind,
Like maggots that fret constantly on a scabbed wound,
Cruel thoughts that remind me I’ve been a fool.

A goddess cares for her jester.
She cares for those who place her happiness above all else.
She listens to his tales many a time under the lunar sphere,
She tells her court of his japes,
The letters, poems, and songs written for her eyes and hers alone,
Sung for her ears and hers alone,
Transformed into japes:
Instruments of adoration, amusement, and jealousy for her court.

A court of ambitious men, ready to enter through any crevice in her heart.
A court of parasitic women, leeching off her popularity and beauty,
For any association with her is a gift from the gods.

A goddess cares for her jester — but too many japes make her
Apathetic towards him.
Of her inner court, the jester is the first she’d lose.

I was your jester.
I was your fool.
Even now, I’m still a sucker for your remnants.
I refuse to accept my axing from your court.
I eagerly await your visits on my glass screen,
Analyse your statements for subtle clues that you may want me to return.
In doing this, I prove I am a fool.
Have I not matured from the boy I was at school?

Cynthia, Selena, goddess
My heart aches when the lunar sphere illuminates half the world.
Its monochrome rays remind me of my abrupt axing.
I was tossed over your castle walls as I slept,
Forever exiled.
Without warning, cast out.
Perhaps for stirring a storm of feelings in your heart
That you weren’t ready to weather.

If I could hear your thoughts, find closure,
There’s a chance I’d heal better.

HEED ME, MY LOVER

Face symmetrical and plain
Eyes dark not black
Waist plump not fat
Bosoms small and roun'
Skin fair yet brown
Voice soft yet loud
Sheen but not pretty
Short but not little
Body lithe and straight
Brows glossy and thick

Be still my heart
For Donna does not belong to us
Quiver no more mine limbs
For fear is a bitter fruit that is no good for us
Mine eyes be attentive
Watch how she struts about under the cool morning sun
Look how she shifts her head,
As if searching for the map to heaven, a place I am certain she is from
If I call her a celestial, I am certain she will respond
Look this way, oh lover, heed me as I yearn for your heart
I seek companionship, give me this, and I will be content for the rest of mine life

The Girl With The Butterfly Tattoo

An ink butterfly on her chest
Right between Lady Right and Lady Left
Half the parlour was in awe when she undid her shirt
They, like me, marveled at their grace
They ought to be real cause only God can make something that makes all men stop and stare
I envy my own babe, nursing peacefully on your chest,
When it comes to the Girls I just don't want to share.
I am a selfish man.

My dear Selene

Woe unto thee, O vain lover,
Woe unto him whose sheets thou dost lie under
Go on, boast of thy wealthy new lover,
Yet turn to me and rediscover all our wonder.
Prize not coin, my dear Selene,
But the true love from God in whose grace we live under.

FEAR!

Fear kept him away
And friends led her astray
His insides felt ignited whenever she came
For she was a celestial being worthy of her name
From him she wanted courtship and a friend
But all she got was silence and heartache
He sought the help of God cause he didn't wanna fail
And he was open to change cause he wanted to learn,
How to treat a goddess born from the seed of man
The right way that she deserves

A Mourning Wife

Till death do us part
Those were the vows we made before God
I still love you even though you are gone
Your resting place was not a grave,
Marked by a grey stone
It was the bottom of a bottle coated with rye foam

You're jovial in the pub
But a husk when you're home
I mourn my husband,
For there's a part of you dead inside
Perhaps it was the one that housed all your love
Is it rum upon your breath
Or a rotting heart?
Who can tell the two apart?

I have fulfilled my vows,
For the bottle has stolen your life
Let us part then,
I'll share a bed with someone who's alive.

The Burden Of Indecision

The weight of indecision
Is a force so many in the world can bear,
Yet one that crushes me,
Gnawing away at my fractured sanity.
There's two paths, which one shall we trek?
There's a third choice but the Bible forbids it
My brittle spine can only endure so much.
Make haste with your decision, author,
Before the pillars of love collapse,
Before your lover finds a suitor with a steadfast spine
