You'Re Not There

When words can't be said,
And time doesn't heal,
We remember the dead,
As if they weren't real.
When their shadow still follows,
And your heart becomes hollow,
All you see is their smiling face,
And remember how it used to be in this place.
I still need you here,
I wasn't ready to let go.
You left with out warning,
No shudder, no sigh,
I never had a chance,
To even say goodbye,
Coming closer,
Just one more step,
Longest step of my life,
Breath becomes short,
Heart is in my throat.
You're not there.

Three Boys and a Girl

You left us.
Four kids and a wife.
Left us behind.
Started a new life.

You just walked away,
Boarded a plane.
Once was my father.
Now your my shame.

I'm ashamed of you,
How could you leave?
A pityful father,
All you will be.

You're new wife,
She's someone you praise.
My mother,
Was left with four to raise.

You're new child.
He's the center of your world.
Left behind us,
Three boys and a girl.

Punch Between the Eyes

You left our friendship in shambles,
Cause I took the gamble,
Of letting you back in,
Of again calling you my friend.

You can't get over your selfish self
Taking your picture down off that shelf.
One thing I'll always regret,
Is being your friend to begin with.

Your jealousy helped me decide,
That its about time i get off this ride,
With you to hell,
And its too far to tell,
If I'll ever replace you,
Find someone that gets me like you do.
Like you did.

I'm thinking back to the words you said,
Aplogizing for leaving our friendship for dead,
"I'm sorry I picked him over you",
And I let you back in, thinking you were new.

And you smiled at me,
Said lets go back to normal.
I didn't realize,
Normal with you,
feels like a punch between my eyes.

And you threw away our friendship,
And you broke me down with words,
Ruined my self confidence,
Stabbed me with your swords,

And this is the last you'll see of me,
As I move on, and you become a memory,
Misguided choice on how to pick my friends,
Picking them like you causes an inevitable end.

Your jealousy helped me decide,
That its about time i get off this ride,
With you to hell,
And its too far to tell,
If I'll ever replace you,
Find someone that gets me like you do.
Like you did.

Better I Will Be

I could break your heart,
With a smile.
Haven't been that guy,
In quite a while.

See I treated you like dirt,
brought you all this pain,
You were easy to hurt,
It was like my little game.

Didn't care for anyone,
Anyone but myself,
Not even you,
While i claimed it was love i felt.

Others had tried,
To get through to me,
I'd trick and I'd lie,
The way I used to be.

Then I finally realized.
You are my life.
And out of your back,
I withdrew my knife.

You are my everything,
All that I need.
Thanks to you,
Better I will be.

I can't hurt you,
I can't get mad.
I can't think bad of you.
I'm sad when you are sad.

I hold you above everything,
You're my everything and more.
You forgive me,
When you should of showed me the door.

I'm better thanks to you.
I can now finally see,
Without you I am broken.
Now better I will be.
