Liberty is a Lady

her womb is a warzone,
a rodent caught in the talons of the eagle.
the rage of women cuts through her like thorns on a rose bush, jagged and tipped with red.
her innocence streams down her legs in crimson tendrils,
wrapping around her thighs in red and white stripes.
you gag her with feigned freedom, stitch her mouth,
and pretend that she has the right to speak.
hands trembling with hatred, you spread her wide, and clip her wings.
grinning as you watch her thrash and stumble,
but even beaten, she steel stands, for

liberty is a lady, and she will not fall.
