Jeffrey Johnston Poem
Into darkness without my friend,
Every hardship has an end.
But to struggle alone, when you ask for help… breaks the bond you both have felt.
No person is worth more, than what they give.
So when you reach the end , will you also be missed?

Jeffrey Johnston Poem
Instead of someone, I feel like no one.
because I know
when all is done,
To you I’m work, but to me you’re fun.
But who you met, was not the one
you now will find;
whose trust you’ve kept,
who now confides;
the truth of what was built on lies.
Nothing lasts,
our paths are fast approaching
days gone by.
So now we live on borrowed time.
Tomorrow begins,
when yesterday dies.
Sunrise is Sunset’s demise.
Relentless is the march of time.
Cruelly built to pass us by
We must soon pay, a price too high;
but we march on with open eyes.
Holding close, side by side;
and fill our hearts and souls
with pride!
We must squeeze so tight;
in love’s embrace;
that the reaper has no choice and waits…
until our fate, one future date;
we’ll lose strength,
our embrace shall break…
Then death shall have our souls to take;
and when we pass,
through heaven’s gate;
leaving home just
as we came,
our love sustained,
tho’ we part ways.
I know our paths will cross again;
on borrowed time;
we’ll never change,
such we make, our selves new again.
It leads us both to be,
the worst of what each other sees!
Until that day.
We do our best, to find our way;
so our hearts can rest.
From the darkness, to better days.
Come what may.
We can’t escape.
What holds us here, is our pain.
Our poisoned love, creates our chains.
And when we die, it’s not in vein;
Though we’ll be gone, the scars remain.
So those we hurt can share our fate.
The cycle repeats, and before you can blink,
the chain gets longer, and harder to break.
So never forget, no matter the length;
you started that chain with the very first link.
Now I have your attention,
I need you to think!
It’s up to you, to walk away.

Jeffrey Johnston Poem
The eyes are windows to the soul;
That’s what they say, or so I’m told.
Your soul stares back at me, beneath the snow; through icy drops of salty rain,
stained glass fills the window pane.
Nothing else could strike me dumb,
But this much beauty ties my tongue.
Your voice reverberates like a song;
that warms me up like summer time, and midday sun.
It’s like my life begins and ends, with each and every flirtatious glance.
You break me, make me, fill me, drain me… and when I’m hurt; somehow you save me,
We clasp our fingers hand in hand, a friendship lasts where romance ends.
I’m glad we have another chance;
Let’s never walk, if we can dance.
And if one day we know we can’t
we’ll drop together, to the ground.
This is where our lives began, we start as dust and so we end.
I’ll stay with you, till we are dead.
A love like ours should never end,
Because of you, I won’t take less.
If a heart can hurt, then it can mend.

Jeffrey Johnston Poem
You and I were separate beings, at the time when you met me.
Then I found to my delight, a friendship formed that very night.
It’s hard to know, just what could be; if we were working as a team.
Not “Team you” and “Team me”.
I know you’re loyal as can be, I only wish it was to me.
I wonder if you’ll ever see; all the things we could achieve.
There is no limit, there is no peak; In no time flat, we’d live our dreams.
Everyone would soon agree; what we are they’ll never be.
We’d fill their hearts with jealousy; and give their envy no relief.
To make this happen, it would seem;
we must start thinking as a team; and being ‘us’ instead of “me.”
What we have makes me so proud; because without it; nothing counts.
You and me could do so much; if only sharing was our focus.
I have waited patiently; a whole year gone by, and all I’ve done…
Yet I have less to show, for all my love; than what you give away just for fun.
I know deep down, it’s not your fault, but truth or not, this hurts my heart.
I wish my body was tall and hard, with chiselled muscles, chest and arms.
But all I am is short and smart. I’ll never have the look you want.
You’d be surprised at what you see; If you could look inside of me!
The man I am is underneath; the man you see is just skin deep.
It means your standards are too high; if you ignore your heart to please your eyes.
The price you pay, you never see; what this costs you, is a life with me.
The kind of life to make you happy.
You are amazing; thanks so much; I’m so grateful for your love.
Though I want more; you’re still enough!
Now let’s agree; to be “we” and “us”.
If we work together, as we must; so what we build, is by built on trust.
Thank you for the year so far, you’re my favourite person; and always are
the brightest, smartest, hottest star.
I love you for just for who you are.
