Die someday

I am going to die some day,
Perhaps surrounded by my children,
If I’ve managed to grow old,
Or surrounded by my friends,
If I have yet to grow cold.

It is possible that I’ll be too weary,
From a long and hard day’s life,
To hear them say their goodbyes,
The ones who have been with me,
Through trouble and through strife.

Perhaps I shall die alone,
In a hospital bed,
Long after my fellows are dead,
Or perhaps i shall take my life on my own,
But either way I am going to die someday.

I am going to rot while the grass still grows green,
Nothing about the world will change,
When the time comes for my absence from it,
The world will not grieve and will forget all I’ve seen,
It will forget all I’ve done and keep everywhere I’ve been,
Because everyone’s going to die someday.

Perceive me

The thirst for effervescence,
A sweetness I’ve always craved,
To be a child of such incandescence,
So that no soul can claim I’ve failed.

Yearning to be witty, even reverential,
Merely to be something good,
Desperate to claw up some potential,
So that no soul can claim I am pointless.

Lusting to be known as an ingenue,
Perfection in a woman’s form,
An image id walk through flame to,
How can I be true when I am based on pure perception?

Perfect rouge

If red is your favourite colour,
Then let there be blood in the sky,
Bleed out would I,
Just to appease your preferences,
Plant one million roses,
As the lavender decomposes,
Just to indulge your eyes.

Ruby rivers cover silver streams,
I could not comprehend even in dreams,
What I would do for that scarlet shade,
Saturating my days, it is not afraid,
To discolour my vision,
‘Twas a lie of omission,
To make you my perfect rouge.
