Meandering paths entwine
No signposts to ease the way
Forwards leads to backwards
Uncertainty the only certainty 

Self pity plays stuck in the mud
Despair his shadowy companion
Yearning, longing for relief

Worn out, tired of fighting
We rest with pain
Our strength renews
A quiet truth emerges
Cracks appear in the darkness
A sliver of light
