To wear a mask

Upon this mortal stage, we don our guise,
In silken threads of smiles benevolènt made;
The world doth crave a face, a grand disguise,
Yet in its charm, sweet innocence is frayed.
The mask, a boon, yet laced with bitter draught,
A poison's kiss that courses 'neath the skin;
For every jest, a mournful truth is wrought,
In shadowed depths where silent sorrows spin.
With orbs like lamps that flicker through the gloam,
We dance upon the thorns of Fate's cruel jest,
To play our part, to leave the heart asfoam,
To sip the deadly brew whilst sore possess'd.
Thus in this play, we find both joy and bane,
For though we wear the mask, the soul shall wane.

Echoes of the Heart

In twilight's glow, where shadows creep,
A melody stirs from the depths of sleep.
Whispers of thunder, echoes so bold,
Carrying stories the night has told.
With every heartbeat, a longing ignites,
Like embers of passion in star-studded nights.
The world in its silence, a canvas so wide,
Awakens the spirit that yearns to collide.
Through valleys of memory, through mountains of dreams,
Your voice is the river where sunlight gleams.
A journey of souls, intertwined like the stars,
In the symphony of life, there are no more scars.
So let the music linger, let the rhythm flow,
With each note, a promise, each chord, a glow.
In the echoes of our heartbeats, we find our way home,
Together we'll wander, never alone.

Whispers of the night

In the hush of night, and in winter’s way
A whisper of the night drifts softly on their way
While the crunch of leaves beneath my feet falls.
The buzz of crickets, a rhythmic call,
As the distant howl of the wind begins to stir.
A gentle drip from the eaves overheard,
While shadows creep and the night turns red, I drift off to sleep my head filled with dread.
The thump of a heart and a click of a door
Echoing dreams in the silence that soar.
With a bang of a branch, the world seems alive,
In this symphony of night, I feel myself thrive.
The sizzle of stars in the cool midnight air,
Each sound a reminder that magic is there.
